Thank you for visiting my grow journal. I thought it might be a good idea to do a journal since this is my first grow.

Clones Received on 2/2/09 - lighting schedule is 18/6
Put into Flower 3/9/09 - Lighting schedule is 12/12

To see my GrowBox, please Click Here.

Information:
Soil: Fox Farms Ocean Forest + Perlite
Nutrients: Fox Farms Grow Big and Big Bloom every other watering.
Containers: 8in pots cut down about 1.5in
Strains: Candy, White widow, God's Treat, Unknown, OG Kush, Master Kush

Room Temp Lights On: 78
Room Temp Lights Off: 66
Room Humidity: 28-40% usually around 30%

Screen Dimensions: 21x31
Light: 250w MH with a 6in CoolTube.

I was given the clones in large 3x3 rockwool cubes which I put right into the soil - I didn't want to break them apart and risk ruining the roots.

I have been watering about every 4days. I've had these babies for about 3 weeks now. A friend brought them over - initial pics can be found in my grow box construction thread above.

I am having an issue with flies - I'm going to the Hydro store tomorrow to get something to kill these pests off. - Photo below - looks to be fungus gnats.

I also determined I need a PH meter/pen - I am slightly color blind - have a hard time with red/green hues. Therefore I don't trust myself with the PH drop test.

Here are a few photos. I think I'm having some nute problems but I'm not sure - thats one reason I'm posting here.

look'n good sofar, a bit heavy on the nutes, back off about 20%, as they get bigger, they can handle stronger mixes, i know every 2 weeks, i bump up my nute up about 10%.

Yeah, I thought that might happen just due to the soil. I think I'll pick up one of those rapidtest soil testers tomorrow too. The one that does PH, and NPK.

I can't figure out Candy1 - its always drooping - even after drying out for a few days - I thought at first it was overwatering but now I'm not sure.

U know wht ur doin u should look at my setup and tell me wht u think.
Thanks Dr. Blunt, comments are appreciated. I did a lot of research prior to putting this together. The goal is to be self sustaining so I don't have to buy from anyone.

I went to the Hydro shop tonight - I could bring myself to drop $100+ on a PH pen knowing that it would possibly need to be replaced in 6-12mos. I got the little tear away strips. So far I feel a bit more confident with these and the colors than the liquid drops. They didn't have any gnatrol left but I've been doing some reading on Beneficial Nematodes and I think I might order some.

Fungus gnats, wheres the fungus? i would have my fan blowing up thru the leaves it will help the plants transpire better and increased circulation makes life for pest difficult in the box.

this is really nice, im starting something similar, i hope it turns out as good as this
Thanks Fats, make sure you plan plan plan - I spent over 3mos reading before I started building. I'm still wishing I had more head room but I think I'll manage.

Do you think it's time for 12/12?

I think I need another week or so before making the switch. The 2 middle plants are way behind and I'm not to worried if they don't produce much this round so I am looking at the 4 on the sides.

Also, I have been reading that you want to 1 bud site in each square of the screen. I honestly cannot find a picture of a bud site or find the actual definition of a bud site. Does anyone have a photo they can post?

Thanks for your help.

Just got done tucking under the screen - I have 1 plant that is acting like an autoflower from what I've read. Its very short and the it looks to me like it is already starting to flower. I'm going to switch to 12/12 as soon as the back right (OG Kush) hits the screen - she's pretty darn close - not like the others. I moved the one that looks to be autoflowering to the front - if I need to my buddy can take this one back.

Anyhow here's some updated pics - closeups are of the plant in question.

yess you should startt 12/12
I need to finish up the light proofing as much as I can without caulking (I don't want the plants to be around those fumes). They'll get put into flower within the next week. This will give the OG Kush (back right) bush a little more time to fill in like the 2 Candy bushes on the left and the white widow in the front right.

the 2 plants in the middle are nothing like the outside 4. They are growing single to 3 finger leafs. When I first got them they looked like the typical cannabis leafs but have been growing like this for about 2 weeks now. I almost think they must be an autoflower strain (but I don't know how they would have been cloned so who knows). I guess we'll see if they start growing when I put them into flower.

I think I'm going to wait on taking clones. I really just want to learn how these grow before I do flowering and veg at the same time. I have a source for clones when this batch is done or I'll get some seeds.

Tonight the plants will move to their 12/12 light schedule.

Yesterday they were fed: 2tsp Grow Big & 1.5tbl Big Bloom

Tomorrow night or Wednesday they will get plain water then this weekend they'll get 1tsp Tiger Bloom & 1tbl Big Bloom.

I'm leaning towards pulling the front center plant (God's Treat) as it is not going to produce a whole lot. The more reading I have been doing - its looking like a problem with the roots on this clone - I saw some pictures of a flowered clone that look exactly like this one.

Anyhow - here is a photo update. More to come this weekend.

Here's some shots 3 days into flower after a tuck and a little bit of training - Yesterday they got watered with no nutes - this weekend they will get tiger bloom added into their supplements.

If anyone has experience with pruning and tucking at this point on a scrog grow - please share - I'm finding it very difficult to find information on this part of a scrog grow.

1. Pruning - When and how much?
2. Setting up the bud sites - need pictures - I'm a visual person.
3. Tucking - how often should I be tucking new grown down?

The plants got their first trimming today along with a plain watering.

Things seem to be moving pretty well - I'm training the plants a little at a time.

Here's a photo dump from day 8 flowering.
