Scrog, have the area need some suggestions

So i have a dresser that is 56"H, 35"W, and 18"deep. I decided that i would do a scrog grow and try to fit about 7 plants. For the screen height i figure i will go about 12-16" above the soil which would leave me 44"-40"inches left to work with. Then take away about 12" for the light going in and i am left with 32"-28" of flowering room. The dimensions all work out perfectly, i am just wondering what light i should use. Idk if a 400watt HPS is to much, or if i should lower the wattage. This is my main problem that i have to solve. I will figure out ventilation after the lights. Any help would be fantastic. Pics will be loaded once the project gets rollin.

A 400w may generate alot of heat in that area regardless of ventilation.....

The area is a little less than 4.5 square feet, which, at 50w/ft would only require a 250w HID light for adequate if not optimal coverage....

You will have more flexibility with plant to light spacing with the 250 which you may appreciate towards the end of the grow

I agree - with the 400 watter it may be hard to keep the area cool enough. I have a 400 watter that is air cooled and it was perfect for that size scrog. You have plenty of height if you train them right.

Yeah you have 4.5 sq ft, 50w/sq ft is good, a 250 will give you 55.6w/sq ft.
I agree that a 400 would probably give you heat issues, and it's not needed in that small a space. Get an air cooled 250 and you should be able to keep it a few inches away from the tops of your plants for nice fat nugs.

HPS is a form of HID--high intensity discharge lights-HPS, MH, Merc Vapor.....those:blsmoke:

but no worries the acronyms get to be a bit much :peace:
