SCROG Training question

I have a question about training under a screen. I am just starting to have some of the stems come through my screen. After they are 2 or 3 inches above the screen I have been bending them over to a new hole in the screen. My question is what if I was to just bend the stem over so it was horizontal to the screen? Would this encourage more growth and fill more holes in my screen or just impede the growth
of the stem I am bending? Thanks

You're either gonna have to bend it horizontal and tie it. Or weave thru screen or it will just stand back up.

Do I not want it to stand back up?

No, you want them on their sides so that the normal side growths become top growths=more tops= more bud
