hi i am goin 2 start growin in a room now as i had great success in my cupboards, however in my cupboards i only had a few plants growing and they were sweet. now i hav this room i am thinking of jus usin the middle of the room and growin usin the Sea Of Green technique, i can easily get 1.5sqm even 2sqm i hav 2 400w HPS lights at hand, i am growing in canna and using all the right nutes, i hav ph testers and that ce tester or wotever it is lol, fans, the lot.

anyway i was finkin bout YEILD, i want more bud! would i get more by growin sea of green in this space or by jus fillin the space i have with bigger plants? will i need just the one light or both? i hav a brand new 600w HPS aswell in my mates garage do u fink that would be better?

thanks guys

what are the dimentions of ur new grow room..... 2 400w HPS LIGHTS can grow more the 2sqm, more like 4. if u want to go crazy and do a true SOG... use all 3 of ur lights, make sure u have c02 because temps with 3 lights are most likely to be around 90F, and u want good vent. but keep us updated

how much time do you want to veg is the question. you can keep a single mother or two under fluroescents so you can take more clones and veg less. or if your not keeping moms grow em big right. currently i use 400w t5 setup for clones and veg im gonna grow em tall because i have time and less bigger plants take less work but if you have time and room yield is usually always better w/ sog in my experience and very little veg time with hid lights shortining your grow time. with that kind of space bigger plants are really nice but sog is probably the way to go with those dimentions you could yeild alot 6x6 can yeild 2lbs from sog so............

k, i hate cinnamon candy, i dont know if i would like cinnamon weed. But you can put enyplant into flower a week after germination, i dont think its good for them, but maybe it is for that strain. germinate em and give it a try lad!

maximum yield better for quick turnover and defenetly hydro but also effective in soil as long as you have room to feed. no veg time mostly smaller plants when size is an issue as well as a few more

Sea of Green is a technique for growing lots of small plants tightly packed together, primarily for the buds on their main cola. Because there's more of them, the loss of buds lower down isn't an issue.

Sea of Green needs to be used with clones, it won't work very well with plants grown from seed, due to the longer vegging times required to bring them to sexual maturity. Clones take on the age of the mother, so a clone vegged or rooted for two weeks, taken from a 6 week old mother is effectively 8 weeks old, even though it may only be 6 inches tall, this means it's sexually mature enough to be put into flower and produce the best yield and potency it can. The same does not apply to plants grown from seed, which ideally required at least 8 weeks vegetative growth to give their best in flowering.

That's why Sea of Green can work extremely well with lots of 6 inch clones, put into flowering.

No worries spowage.

Any variety should do well in Sog, but particularly the pure Indicas and Indica dominant strains. What you want ideally are plants that stay relatively small in height and grow short and bushy. What you don't really want is plants that will grow tall and spindly, because that cuts down on the light penetration into the sog canopy and means you have to have your lights higher - what you want is the lights right over the canopy illuminating the top 50% of the plant and not worrying about the bottom 50%. Tall big plants take up a lot of room, more small compact bushy plants can be squashed into a smaller area - that's the basis of Sea of Green - lots of small compact bushy plants.

lolyou mean the cola.

ok try clones under a clone light for a week then hid for at least 10 days then flower.... if your seeding then expect to wait till the plants have 4 levls (nodes) of leaves growing before you flower

so if i wer to top the plants a cuple of times, wud that be ok?
Sure, topping would help keep them short. Fim'ing would be better - it's similar to topping, but instead of simply chopping the top meristem off, you raise the cut to just snip through the 4 emerging branches as low as you can - these then develop into 4 colas surrounding the central one :) Perfect for sog.

Not all plants like to be topped or fim'ed, just got to experiment and find ones that do.
