sea of green

i read the other day about a method called sea of green but the thread had almost no information and didnt even really tell me what it was so if you guys have any info on this method or any other method to keep plants small besides low stress training fimming or topping your help would be greatly appreciated

i dont know really either, or what does putting a screen over the top of the plants do?

ok well do you know any other ways to keep the plants small and bushy without adding a lot of stress to them

i flower mine @ 8 inches tall now, kept the cfls real close and used 6"pots and about 24" tall @ harvest so far, now my box will be FULL looking for answers..lol

Sea of green just means you have all stages of plants growingfrom seedlings\clones to flowering so you pretty much have a perpetual harvest. As far as the screen across plants it holds up the plants when they are flowering or just veggin out

the sea of green method is basically growing twice as many plants in the same space just smaller. great for closets. 6 plants on bottom or one side in veg and 6 plants in the top or the other side of the closet for flower.

well i can explain the screen as im using a SCROG right now

basically you let the plant grow up to the screen, and as she gets taller than it you weave the plant into the screen

this way you put your light 12-16 inches above the canopy and the whole plant gets an even amount of light

with my purple kush, normally there would only be 1 main cola,

but in the SCROG i have about 6 colas that would all be equal to that main cola

SOG needs 2 rooms, one for Mother plant and clones and one for flowering. The idea is to pack as many rooted clones under a lamp as possible. Each plant is the same height and has one main cola, making it look like a sea of green. The idea is that 32 small 1 foot plants will give you more buds than 8 large plants under the same light. As soon as the plants are harvested you move another batch of clones into flowering room. You cut clones once a month, those clones veg for a month etc. you eventually end up with a perpetual garden. Search for threads, there are a few excellent ones.

Sog is basicly the latest and greatest method of growing i think that has been passed down from the pros to get the best yields in the smallest space possible..... Once u learn how to clone a female all u have to do is keep cutting, let the cuttings form root structure, and place in flower......

There are many variables the most important is time, the second is yield, cloned female cuttings are going to produce only colas ( BUD ) . In a tight compact space u can grow many main colas and control ur entire harvest this way.

Growing from seed is fine but there is always the possibility of wasting time on males........ Growing sog U delete this possibility entirely and in turn once u get this method down it seems like the best growing method that makes the most sense.LOL

Ok I plan on starting my sog setup in a medium size closet(not a walk in),I have all required supplies already,2 questions will a 400 hps be sufficient (flowering stage)and where is the best site for seeds?

I have 25 going with one 400 watt mh and one 400 watt hps.16 are in 32oz. and are like little trees.3 are in 3gal. and 6 in 5gal. with 2 plants in one.TALL PLANTS,BUSHY PLANTS AND LITTLE PLANTS IS THE WAY TO GROW.
