sealed fridge grow box

wha gwan?
im really really anxious to start my own grow but i need a good inexpensive grow room idea to get me started ive done alot of research on the site already and a lil infor on wha im tryin to do follows

*Aeroponic system (bubbleponics)
* this is just my 1st grow i am attempting but i hope to make it to sog level soon :)
*got seeds not sure what type jus came from a bag of some FLAME ISH
*got 2 150 watt compact flour. for right now but goin back to the store to possible get a something a bit bigger (around 400 watts)
*got nutrietns an etc.

all i need now is a room!!

and im lookin for something along the lines of about a grow cabinets, tents something that wont take and entire room....or half of it in that case

i saw a sealed operational fridge grow that looked pretty interesting on youtube sayin it was carbon enrichent leaking no smell! or light and i must admit a lazy person like my self saw this as an oppurtunity to skip cutting holes and gutting out the fridge

but i thought the only way to make a grow box from a fridge that wont over heat my plants was the traditional exhasut/cooling fans and mounted lights

i can get a cheap fridge for about 30 bucks and some 6"-7" fans really cheap aswell
but would you more experienced growers consider this the least expensive grow box to make? if not would u please enlighten me with as mush of the infinite wisdom as u can(loves learning)
much appricated

Wow nice timing. I was about to start a thread about a fridge grow box. I got some started and am ready to get some advice. Gimme a hour to get all the pics ready and type what my plan is.

veg/flowering rooms are always good in my opinion. My first grow was in a 3 piece rubbermaid tote while i was staying at my moms. i would suggest black/white tarp from either HD they have rolls of straight black tarp. or your local hydroponic store for the white and black side tarp its alittle more expensive alot more durable and thick you could make a tent out of thoes just by reinforcing the tarp to either the ceiling or to couple of planks Velcro makes its easy to open to maintain your babys you wouldnt need all the expenses like ducting filters hoods just your average fan and some cfls the hps is a must id have to say with the tarp u can build your self a 2x2x4 room or u could build two side by side vegging and flowering basically is what i did here just its in a basement room

Yea, I have a room going with a 400W MH and dual 150W HPS but I wanted 1 more flowering chamber.

i have made many of fridg grow rooms if you need to see one let me know il post a few pics for you.
they work great. just don't forget to exhaust

hey i appreicate all the feed back and im taking all this info in
i like the tent idea
but now that i started this fridge thing im kinda hooked

but a tradgedy has struck in the "space" department due to furniture invading my garage
so it looks like im gonna have to build a mini fridge grow room and keep it up in my room or somethin but let me just make sure i got all the steps down before i go messing everything up

1.Leak all coolant from fridge
2.remove all inner fridge "stuff" (compressor lookin thing and coils)
3.cut a hole in the inner ceiling(maybe back wall) of the fridge to run my lighting wires down and out the back into my surge protector
4. cut a 6" hole on the inner-top back wall and insert my muffin exhaust fan
5. drill several intake holes along the bottom for good air flow

i think thats about it right?
and i was thinkin for a mini frige i shud be good with about a 250 watt hps for veg and flower?
ive got 2 compact flour as i said earlier but i belive the hps would be alot better from all that ive heard

@mygirls:if you have ever made a mini fridge i would love some pics. thanks!

I'd go lower W than 250. A 100 or 150 CMH would be good IMO. (they do veg & flower) That's pretty hot and it's a small space. 1 through 5 look right to me. I'd cut the back not top out.

Folks,

I have crafted my fridge to perfection already using a 400 w HPS bulb, 5 lb C02 tank, Mylar on the walls I highly recommend using it

A 4 inch intake & exhaust fan with carbon filter attached to remove the smell from the garage & I also added 4 inch vent piping to the exhaust a week ago the go up the a pre-made exhaust outlet for the water heater

Here is a link for the fan installs

Let me know if you have any questions

ok coo ill start lookin toward a light like that
and thanks t i was real blurry on the whole cuttin for exhaust but i get it now

my last question is once i get the bulbs and everything what kind of light fixture can i put it in?
i realize it may be a better grow if i went all out with the hydro store light fixture suspended with chain or what not
but i saw T'S lights jus resting on one of the inner shelves and that looks alot easyer i jus dnt have a lmap like that!!

again thanks for all the help!
id tottally smoke u guys out if i we where in the same neighborhood :)

I have stepped up the game a little and added a 400 w HPS Hortilux bulb that is zip tied to part of the separator from the freezer to the lower part of the fridge

I have a 165 cfm exhaust fan which I would recommend if you are adding a carbon filter like I did, you need the extra cfms that the 4 inch inline fan cannot handle and you will start to get mildew on your plants and let's not go there

And having a more powerful fan will keep temps down if that is an issue

My temps have been in the mid 70's during the day for them and in the mid 60's at night

Good luck

Question guys..Has anyone grown in a working fridge without removing the compressor and stuff so you can set the correct temperature or would this be impossible because of humidity levels? I just thought it would be much cheaper then running an aircon.
