‘Sean Hannity came to town, to Detroit, and he did his show from here… Before the show, he actually had some event at a bookstore, where he signed his book for people, and he asked me to meet him at this book signing. So I met him there, and it was very awkward. He had me stand up there with him while he signed books, and I felt very weird… and then I left to get ready for the show, and he said, “Why don’t you come back to my hotel?” I said, “No, I have to get ready for the show.”‘
Schlussel’s retelling of the incident went on; the issue didn’t end with one deeply misplaced invitation from Hannity for her to accompany him to his hotel.
As she went on to explain to Pat Campbell, Hannity repeated his invitation for Schlussel to accompany him to his hotel after the show was over. She adds that she was “treated horribly” during production of his show, being yelled at repeatedly by then-Executive Producer Bill Shine to keep her mouth shut, even though the point of her appearance on the show was literally for her to talk.
She adds that after production of the show had concluded, Hannity called her and yelled at her, making it clear that she wasn’t going to be welcome on his show again and that her refusal to accompany him to his hotel had a lot to do with that.
