I use 200 right now, but I have 1 200w two-emitter Vero fixture from Timber, 1 single emitter 85w fixture from Tasty, and 2 78w Cree fixtures from Tasty.
Right on. I bought my 240 1400c meanwell with 4 citizen clu048 1212 and 4 passive heatsinks and threw it on some scrap aluminum that i had laying around. $165USD shipped to my house in canada from china within 4 days. (Can use 250w with the meanwell but only 200w of COBs here)

I have another COB sitting here but this is all a test for me just for the hell of it till i build that strip/cob light.

How much was the timber light?

Like, $275 with frame and all. A little pricey, but I don’t buy any lighting from China anymore. Serious quality issues.

I only bought from kingbrite cause before i started growing, i read a post on this very site that had cobkits dude legitimize kingbrite. Tests and all (supposedly). I checked price and was like hell yeah, grabbed em and started growing/testing. Going well so far with my noob experiments.

I had my first plant super non stretchy,

but broke my mainstem trying to stretch it out (still finished fine after i taped it up...lol. so i figured id let plant stretch a bit. Works for me i think.

1.50 gpw here we come choo choo

Again, im doing this to see highest yield with my super shitty easy dirt cheap setup. Larf incl...
GPW is the most arbitrary and non-usable data ever propagandized

G per sqft is what matters
how you maximize space

get between 60-80 g per sqft
then you can actually have something to say

Your right. We should all just grow outside.

Im trying to use as little cost as possible while still maintianing a legit plant with epic bud.

Ofc the sun and anything super high-powered will get higher gram per sqft...but you either use the sun for free or mass amounts of electricity thrown at a small grow.

Id say it comes down to gpkw/h...for my test at least.

Which helps me out saving electricity cash cause i vegged under 65w cfl and flowered under 150w

I get 60g per sqft in a 2x4 running 350w of COBs
not outside
sorry very obtainable
that is 1.4gpw if you break it down
so.....yeah lets grow out side
where I pull 10# plants
that isnt what I am talking about

and like I said
your last harvest.....for 150w of COB wasnt very good at all

image.jpeg

you see this is what comes from a 2x4 space
no larf just tops

I grow for flowers

there is a technique for growing only colas......top quality top shelf only

More than twice the wattage that i use for flower. What do you use to veg in the 2x4?

My last harvest was my first ever harvest with a broken mainstem snapped in half. Lol.

Larf or no larf...damn good.

I wonder if they use only the roundest of grapes for the best most expensive wine...

I veg for 1 week @200w
then flip to flower and flip to 350

no matter it is the space maximized
not the watts used
150w should be able to net you 200g of top shelf
I know for a fact that what you grew was nowhere close to that

you want to fight it
but it has to do with dialing in your enviroment
based on nutrients/medium/RH/Temp/watts etc
all together
when you are using lights with little penetration like yours
you have to use certain techniques to strictly maximize the space and lights
and you force your plant to focus all energy into tops and not the entire plant
on your plant
anything below 14" from the top of canopy is wasted......it should have been chopped off week 2 and the plants would have put that energy into forming larger heavier flowers up top
but you dont want to hear this because it isnt in your echo chamber of beliefs
