Second Time Out - White Rhino, Butterscotch & Ak-47 Oh MY!

Whoa - so three months have gone by. Some plants have grown and been harvested, others died, all have been witness to an epic battle against the cursed Spider Mites. I've shifted into low gear with the intention of shutting down completely and rebuilding the grow room. With only an 8' x 4' space I need to tear out the awkward boxes I made and replace them with proper shelves with light-tight doors. Also, with the room empty I can take ... harsher...methods to deal with the f**king mites. I also need to improve light & odor security and put a real door on the damn room.

First move was to isolate the mothers, so off to the office closet they went. Couple of 400 W T-5's seem to be doing the trick, as they have doubled in size since these shots. And yeah, I have a fierce guardian of the garden; she loves chillin' with the moms!

After that I just threw anything that might flower under 12/12 and have been paying marginal attention to them since. Harvested a couple of really nice Butterscotch girls, one of which is particularly syrupy in her scent. Had some other stuff that's since been cured & bagged...there are a few ounces just strewn around the house in various jars, bags, whatever. I'm diggin' it. It helps when friends slip ya a fat bag of OG Kosh...that came out of friggin' nowhere (no complaints mind ya!) Anyway, in the next two or three weeks I'll cut the last girl and tear the whole thing down. Who knows what will rise from the ashes.

Been having some serious weirdness with the alleged White Rhino. First she goes purple on me, and I assured she had none of the deficiencies that usually cause the color change. But that ain't nuttin' compared to her next trick - she hermies! And I mean every damn one of them. Gonna chuck (or maybe flower) the three WR mothers I have and start over with known-good WR seed from Nirvana. I better get it right because both my wife and daughter prefer the WR to the Butterscotch, and you know how you have to keep your ladies happy! Check the buds with dicks:

Interesting feature in the middle shot - note the single "finger" leaves on the stem with the stacked calyx...WTF is that about?

Now there isn't much point in growing it if you're not going to enjoy it, and I've been having a grand time with some new toys. Got a Magic Flight portable vape and haven't looked back. Used it exclusively for a few weeks after I got it. Then I bought the Wikka Keif Box and it was all over. I've kept every leaf of sugar trim I've ever cut, figuring eventually one day I'd get bubble bags. Plenty frosty and still gooey, but perfectly dried for screening. I've been smoking 100 micron hand-pressed keif sprinkled over the aforementioned OG Kush for weeks...need I say more?

Yeah, it's good.

Dont you love it and you almost do a whole thread and It's almost all you talking. lol Hey man nice work! Rhino rules doesnt it! I pop in and out friend so I'll catch ya. From time to time. Keep it up people are to get to comment sometimes.
LOL - I just like to spout off to hear the sound of my own voice and post a few pix of my girls. If I get some community out of it all the better. Over my RIU hiatus I started keeping a physical journal in the room for tracking nute refreshes and all the other day-to-day documentation. Lot easier to jot down a few sentences than having to boot the laptop, blah, blah...

Watching your amazing op in awe Dude. Truly epic. Indeed.

Community is part of being kind, and there are a few folk out there who have helped shepherd me along since I started this whole growing thang. One of these folks was particularly kind to me recently so tonight I made them a nice salad. Bag with a few grams of White Rhino, another with a few more of Butterscotch, yet another bag, this one the alleged AK-47 (which is almost narcotic in its stone), some pressed 100 micron screened keif and, just becase I'm old skool, a joint. All packed up nice & tidy.

Havin' fun, no doubt.

Cut the last of my flowering ladies today. Trimmed them and hung 'em up to dry, and shut down the room. I still have a number of mothers under some T-5's but nothing flowering. Next weekend a friend and I are going to tear out the boxes I built and put in decent shelves. Once those are in place I plan on flowering the majority of the mothers, keeping only a few for propagation. I still have those Nirvana White Rhino beans as well as a complimentary Cole Train which I plan on starting soon. Have three ounces of finished product so far, with another ounce or so hanging to dry, so we should be in weed until the next harvest. So yeah, a little bit of downtime to enjoy, then right back to it. Updates as warranted!

I know who I'd grow for - hand crafted & boutique - personal attention to each and every girl in my harem until the day I cut her down and hang her up...

Hang on - just let me get this keif where it's most useful......

...yum - I do like to keep some sugar trim on hand...

Randomness - because I haven't the strength, nor the time, to upload in any coherent order...
So I had way too many mothers on hand - like twelve four footers. Six went into flower five or so weeks back.

So I stuffed three different Butterscotch, two alleged AK-47, and a White Rhino from my first grow under a couple of 96 watt T-5's.

Two week old Butterscotch...gonna do a shelf along the wall at crotch height and ring the room in little lollipop plants in soil. Utilize every lumen and all that...

Five Nirvana White Rhinos and the freebie Reserve Privada Cole Train - all lookin' good. Planted six beans - got six plants. My rig runs an even 80 with 40% humidity - starts, fresh clones and young plants seem to love it. If it's true that tall means male then three of the five WR plants are males - keep one to play with crossing? Rhino Butt anyone?

White Rhino - five week 12/12. Spindly which is why I'm letting them go. Tasty smoke tho'. Will be interested to see what the fresh genetics look like - purple leaves and hermies seem to be a consistent problem with this variety. Time will tell as I am still weeks away from even being able to take a cuttin to sex. Fortunately, the Cole Train is fem'd so I can start butchering her as soon as she's ripe.

And above - the clone/veg/starting chamber. From afar.

The girls in flower - should make enough to get through 'til the next batch.

That's enough for now - stuporous Ak-47 awaits...

More randomness - this time from the veg side of my 8' x 4' paradise. For example...

The apical meristem on my remaining Butterscotch mother. I cannot believe how happy my mothers are - just aching to be cut again!
BS_apical_meristem.jpg

Some of the five AK-47 & six Rhino babies I have in soil. Like to pack them around the bubblers and in the corners - groom them to nice single cola plants
Young_uns.jpg

Rhino hermy. Always happens with these plants - interested to see how the Nirvana behaves.
WR_Hermied.jpg
Some of the Mandevilla blooms in our kitchen under the 150 watt HPS light I got for the wife. Fresh herbs year round - seriously!
Mandevilla.jpg

On the right - six alleged AK-47's in their bubbler. Happy as shit too. Only grown four of these before and it was in a half-assed way...and the results still kicked my ass. Looking forward to seeing what she does in hydro...
AK_Bubbler.jpg

My current pride & joy - five Nirvana White Rhino and one Cole Train seedlings.
Seedlings.jpg

Seems I can't get a decent shot of the flowering side of the room - which is a damn shame because it sure is pretty right now. Dosed the ripe girls with Overdrive, and will do so for the next week or two, then a week flush. Some with go sooner, some later, depending on my mood. Good times ahead!

Checked the trichs on a few of my ripe girls and found cloudy & amber, and you know what that means! I don't think there is anything more satisfying than cutting her down, trimming her around, and hanging her up...and I've still got four fat girls aching to be taken out with plenty more behind them! Damn I love this hobby!

Just a few pix of the ladies last moments before I took their lives

Butterscotch - should be good for a Z or so

So yeah - got two more of each strain just aching to be cut down and hung up. Today is eight weeks so I'm OK with harvesting but I may just take colas and let the secondaries have another week or two to finish. I don't have that much ready to go into flower so it's not like I need the space. But I may just huff a blunt and go all herbicidal on their asses too - use the immature stuff for making hash...only time will tell...!
