Secret Microscopic Closet Grow

My wife recently decided that she no longer liked my pot use so, as far as she is concerned, im not doing anything with it anymore..... But we all know thats not true lol anyways one picture looks like maggots crawling around but its actually the seed roots after i germed them and the other picture is my grow set-up. i dont expect every seed to sprout but no matter how many do sprout im only gonna have 2 plants total and im only gonna veg them for a few weeks. Harvest is only gonna be for personal use so i dont care how much they produce. im gonna add 2 more cfls in a few weeks once the plants get tall enough and im gonna select the two most promising ones and put them each in thier own container. i may do 4 plants total, because they wont be too big, and have 2 in each 5gal bucket. even if they all turn out male, i haven't spent any money. Bagseed + cfls that i already had + potting soil from my neighbor + buckets from work = cheapest grow op ever lol total cost is $0.00. Im always open to suggestions and constructive criticism since this is only my 2nd indoor grow and also my smallest grow EVERWP_20130620_001.jpgWP_20130621_002.jpg

the seeds blend in extremely well with the countertop so you cant see them. in person you can see them quite well but after i uploaded the pic it just looks like maggots lol i promise that they are seed roots lol (16 total) and as always, stay smokey my friends :leaf:

ok so out of 16 germinated seeds 8 have sprouted so far and are already forming their first set of spear leaves. gonna run them on a 24/0 light schedule for a while or until they get big enough to choose my 4 most promising prospects then im gonna transplant them and put them on a 18/6 light schedule with two more cfls until they get big enough to start flowering after which time i will switch them to a 12/12 light cycle. if anyone has any pointers or constructive criticism its always welcome. and as always stay smokey my friends :leaf:

Just some advise. Dont keep things from your wife. Marriage is base a lot on trust and respect. By not telling her what you are doing you are both lieing to her and not respecting her. Trust me she will find out. It is impossible to grow in the same house with someone you live with and see every day not have have them figure it out. Talk to your wife about you smoking, its not that big of a deal until she finds out what you are up to when they start smelling.

sounds like you need to get a divorce dude. i've been in that situation before, and the only way that it can end is very bad. save yourself the trouble now and talk to her about your goals, wants, needs and desires for the future- if they dont match up- get out now.

not really relevant but how old are you and how long have you been married?

not really married but its quicker to say wife instead of live-in girlfriend. besides that i have them in the closet in my snake room (she refuses to go in the room, much less look in the closet) anyways, thanks for replying but do you guys have any advice or pointers about the grow?? as always, stay smokey my friends :leaf:

PS, went ahead and plucked a few of the weaker sprouts so now im down to 8 total and all of them are roughly the same height (about 5-6 inches)

the snake room might be your savior there man, still think you should re-evaluate your situation though.

about the grow, it will work for something small but dont expect much, you will need separate pots for each plant you want to keep, more soil, some nutrients, and more light if you can. so far i think you are on track for a couple grams.

then maybe you should comment on his grow. he brought the personal business in with his first post, so IMO we have a right to comment on it. get a life

What a constructive and thought provoking post.

I'm not the one running around on the internet, telling complete strangers they need to get a divorce. Apparently I'm the one that needs a life though.

I'll keep that in mind!

Fuck that if she don't want to you smoking that's an attempt to control you. Be the alpha male. Shit my girl don't smoke. She doesn't really like it either but she'll roll my blunts for me!:bigjoint:

To the OP - if you're serious about keeping your grow stealthy, you'll absolutely have to do something about the smell. Snake room or no snake room, your grow will be the worst kept secret if you don't manage the smell with a carbon scrubber. Buy one, or search for how to make a DIY scrubber cheaply.

As for the condition of your grow - it's a little too early for a lot of advice. Separate the seedlings into individual pots. It'll be too difficult to separate them without causing root damage when they're more established.

Do some research (if you haven't already) about how, when and the amount you need to feed your plant.

Good luck.

iv done several grows but only my second indoor and also my smallest ever. i dont expect more than a few grams after harvest, if i get a 1/4 then i hit the lotto. not trying to grow any killers or a ton of weight just mainly for research to see what is the most i can get out of a 5gal bucket with a few cfls. like i said in my first post, money invested in this is $0.00 so even if they all go to shit i still havent lost anything. also i think im gonna cut the veg stage short and go to 12/12 next week. iv seen several posts about going 12/12 from seed and the plants are usually short and bushy with up to 4-5 plants in one 5gal bucket. if you guys have any advice or opinions on this then lemme know by next saturday (7-6-13) happy growing and as always, stay smokey my friends :leaf:

P.S. my wife (live in girlfriend for those that think they are marriage counselors) knows about it now. doesnt like it but hasnt said shit else about it.

wow. those were such wonderful contributions. great advice too. if your just trying to get your post count up then go to noob central and repeat what everyone else has already said. but dont post on my thread with pointless comments. it really shows lack of respect and an even greater lack of knowledge and intelligence. if you have a personal problem with me then feel free to message me on my profile. Thanks and stay smokey :leaf:

Day 9 From Seed

So iv plucked all but 3 or 4 sprouts and added a small fan for air circulation. Also its hard to see from the pics but one of the sprouts looks different from the others. On all but that one, the first spear leaves are directly on top of the seed leaves but on the last one the first spear leaves are about an inch above the seed leaves. Never had this happen before. Should i be concerned or is it nothing to worry about?? Happy growing and as always, stay smokey my friends :leaf:

LOL you are right about those marriage counselors, what was that all about lol

seedling all look ok as far as i can see
do a close up shot

the amount the seedling stretches varies between seed, some will have a gap some will appear to have no gap between the seed leaves
and first set of true leaves, some will break open the shell with these leaves already there, others will only have the seed leaves

peace
