Even the AP decided to run this story with a deceptive headline. NATO chief hails missile defense "positive step"

BRUSSELS — NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen says a U.S. decision to shelve plans for a missile shield in the Czech Republic and Poland "is a positive step."
Fogh Rasmussen says he had talks with the U.S. top envoy to the alliance on Thursday morning about the changes in the plans, adding the full alliance will be debriefed later in the day.
Fogh Rasmussen says new U.S. plans would improve the involvement of all NATO nations.
Czech Premier Jan Fischer said Thursday that President Barack Obama told him Washington has decided to scrap the plan that had deeply angered Russia.

No one said russia is a threat to us.... they are a threat to eastern europe... where the missile defense system was going to be placed. The intent is not to make Russia stand down but to offer a shield from Iran's craziness.
Russia need not fire rockets into eastern Europe or western. they simply wait for winter and turn off the pipelines.

It's about keeping a promise. it's about staying at the cutting edge militarily. Obama is moth balling all of our best weaponry with the absurd notion of saving a few billion bucks when he is spending Trillions in stimulus bills.

Even a slow witted stooge can look around today and see that there are places ijn the world literally ready to explode. We sure hope they don't.... but what if they do? The USA has already proven to the world on numerous occasions that we cannot last in a sustained fight. The ppl are spoiled and grow weary if anything interrupts their Ipod tunes.

It's in our best interest to have a vastly superior military position over everybody. Obama thinks he's got it covered. he won't be the first to be very very wrong in that assumption, and if he is, mothballing our high tech fighters and missile defense shields will cost us blood down the road. Just remember that.

Remember when the soldiers couldn't get the latest body armor? Drastic cuts in the military by Clinton had lasting effects. If Clinton had known 9/11 was coming upon the nation, he surely would not have crippled the military and the CIA now would he..........

Attaches missile defense to our nuclear talks with Russia (it's called caving over the phone before the meeting). We recognize the Iranian elections but scold Honduras for taking their constitution seriously. We say we will no longer nation build and tell other nations what to do, and then tell Israel they can't build houses in certain areas.

Who will trust us? I don't trust us. If they don't trust you, then you must make them fear you. Then we're back again to no F-22's and capitulations to Russia.

The US, Russia, GB, France, and China all have intercontinental ballistic missles plus stelth subs. They would fire everything at once and that would be that. That's what you think. Actually, Russia has already announced they are backing down from locating more nukes near eastern Europe (Poland, specifically) and they have hardened their stance on Iran.

Russia sells Iran most of its gasoline. Iran produces crude oil but lacks the refining capabilities to adequately supply its population with fuel. Get it now?

USA missile defense shield is now at 80% accuracy and the accuracy is climbing (meaning most of the failures were iin the beginning, not the present)

Obama pulls missile shield defense system after all the money has already been invested in its success

Obama gets ZERO for giving yp the missile program (remember it was linked to russian nuclear disarmament)

Poland is pissed, eastern Europe is pissed. (read their papers, not ours)


Russia celebrates a victory over the USA (read their papers, not ours)


Those are facts.

If you wish to dispute those facts... go ahead and TRY.

It's not fear. It's common sense. Not all too common it seems.
