I just planted KC-36 seeds that popped, all ten of them yesterday in 1 quart plastic containers ( the kind used for soup in chineese restaraunts) with soil that has nutes in it of 0.14 - 0.21 - 0.14. Will that hurt the baby seeds? And should i cover them with a clear plastic tops, and do i have to use my 250w mh conversion bulb or can i use the 250 hps (wich one is best) and how far above the containers?

Hey Fox...

1. What kind of soil are you using....

2. yes it may burn the seedlings but probably not if you water with propoer
pH water... pHing water is (usually) vital for a successful grow!

3. You can use either light.. but be very very careful.. put the light at least 2 feet away from your seedlings until they gorw their first set of "real" leaves.. HPS and MH lights can dry out and kill a plant in less then an hour.. lower the light an inch or 2 everyday until you get a desired heigh that is safe for your plant... you should also have a fan blowing up at your light.. blowing the heat up and away from your plants..

4. Each plant ideally needs its own container with drainage holes... many new growers over water their plants.... you should be water with LARGE quanity and little frequency... flood the soil and then wait 3-10 days depending on plant size, container size and air temperature.... the top 2 inches of your soil should be bone dry before you water... of course this is not true for seedlings... seedling do not have deep roots and need to be kept moist... BUT NOT SOGGY.... roots need oxygen.. you dont want to drown them in water..

5. DO not cover your seedlings with plastic.. yikes... this will kill them
