I can't upload pictures, but I have a pk x urkle it popped, grew up about an inch a week ago, an sat there, an sat there. I've had one before squeeze true leafs out with the shell stuck around it, so I figured this could be happening here as well pulled the shell open about 2 days ago and she still isn't opening is some thing wrong or is it just a slow moe?

Be sure to use a toothpick though and also to wet the shell a bit, 1 or 2 itsy bitsy tiny drops of water on it and you're good to remove it

Well I'm worried cause if she's still feeding off the shell I don't wanna take it from her. I didn't take it all the way off but it opened over 180*

This happens all the time. Take the shell off immediatly. Use a pair of tweezers and squeeze them together and stick them in the crack of the shell. Release them and let the tweezers open the shell up. The embryo will be there still and i take that off to with the tweezers. If plant is in a cup stick a plastic baggie over it to keep humidity up until you see healthy green leafs.

If she's been sitting for a week with her shell on, she is done. Plant another seed and move on.

Ok so she flew wide open today. Yes the seed uses thing from the shell to feed off of just like a baby they don't just starve in the womb. I think I should have left her I cut a bit of embryo that was keeping her closed but her leaflets look under developed, a little yellow. I have had them yellow before but only when I tried to help them.

I'm not under standing what made you guys so sure that a seed that stood up is no good just cause she's taking a while, she popped and stood up what's leading you to believe it won't go any where from there?

She might stand for another couple weeks, but if there are no new growth shoots coming out the top she will die. At some point you have to get the shell off or this happens. In my experience not getting the shell off in less than 48 to 72 hours is a death sentence. You can also kill them by removing the shell too aggressively and taking off the new growth shoot. I'll be thrilled for you if I'm wrong but I believe your seedling has essentially pinched off its own top.

Thanks for the input but the posts above yours says how she popped open

Getting your cot leaves out is good, but you still need to see a new growth shoot develop before you celebrate. I've been down this road so hope you get better results than I did! She'll be something special for sure if she makes it.

^^^Could not have said it better myself GET THAT SHIT OFF!!!
The shell will kill your seedling if it is not removed, this is not nature, help your little bitch!!
Best to drip a few drops of water on it and then remove very gently, most likely it will come off very easily, if it doesnt it is likely dead, but if u dont try to remove it it is 100% dead, blame darwin.

Ok it's getting old now, PEOPLE MAKE SURE YOU READ THREW A THREAD. An that's ignorant because it IS nature. Had one do it before an shoot out a set of new growth, it just wasn't nearly as long as this one helped her once I saw them. BUGEYE yes she popped a set of new growth upon the cots very excited, she's my first purple ;)

so you are saying when i am taking the seeds off for the plant so that it lives i am not interrupting the natural course of the plants life? I assure u in nature when a seedling doesnt shed its seed fast enough no one comes along to save it, we help nature in its course, even a strong plant can have this happen just by bad luck. We assist nature to lower the chance of variables that have negative consequences on our plants, this is not natural. Even the strongest genetics have common problems like this, plants are living things and sometimes nature just selected them to die. I venture to say there are very desireable phenos that have a common problem of this happening, and they would never have been enjoyed without human intervention.

Ok worked on gettin a pic of her up. The white tips is what I'm talking about when I say she was eatting still(developing the cots).

The one I had before that was having a difficult time shedding it's seed all the way ended up have 3 nodes side by side by side the entire time, didn't get the chance to flower her though, hope this ones special though.
