Seed Problems

I have some seeds in a peat tray filled with miraclegro seed starting mix, the seeds are autoflowers. My problem is I planted them last Tuesday and they still haven't sprouted. Two of them popped up above the surface of the soil today, but neither of them had a taproot. I also couldn't quite tell if the pointy end of the seeds had cracked, I think they did but I'm not sure. Should I push these two seeds back down underneath the soil, or just let them do their thing? Also, I had been watering them three times a day. I'd take a bottle of purified water, pour some into the cap and pour it into each individual slot in the peat tray. I did this three times a day. So, they got three caps of bottled water a day. People had advised me that I should stop watering them and just let them bake in the sun, that they didn't need any more water, is this true?

Here's an example of a peat tray: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=peat+moss+tray&view=detail&cbir=ms&mid=F52F1E054E8A80DC470046BF5FE7A7BB5E34B790&id=4862FBDC1CA42A6B2585E9FA67A4F71EAE4A1DE9&vw=35f0c 7eec6 bc294 42ad6 07923 ac5f6 7eec3 afbed 918b6 b5fa6 84dca c1cdf ab553 afe29 916a1 271f9 918b0 6d51c ddff5 91cb5 908e5acad67ae6bc5e0333a38f24e5ab96ac6f4288b56ded4df22e80759884f774ca55afe2a91cca84f17e7ab327d297d6e9&rxc=15

Basically the last thing you want to do with seedling is over watering, just keep the soil moist & avoid damp

Just enough to make the soil lightly humid. Or just get one of these & keep humidity level at 4-52010129173056676.jpgPS these moisture meter cost around 5$
