Seed Sprouting Did I Kill Them?

kay, so i had these cotton make up removal pads i thought they would be perfected to start me seeds bcuz they stay wet for so long, some of them are braking open and just showing roots,and stoped growing, but im starting to think the cotton was to heavy for them, would it use all the seeds energy just to brake the seed under a lil weight?

its jus gonna pop roots out
the cotton pad wont grow a plant
after the root show's then you plant them

Yeah man, when the seed sprouts you plant it in your preferred media. The longer you keep it in there to more likely it won't survive.
