Plant looks nice and healthy. Cool setup with the tent and that 250 monster watt bulb. I've seen some guy on youtube use the 50/50 spectrum with 300 watt equivalent bulbs and his plants were coming along real nice. Do you have a in line fan and flexible ducting? What is the diameter for the vent holes in the tent?
Hey, thanks for tuning in buddy!

I don't have an in line fan/ducting setup. I have one 4'' fan hanging directly in front of one of the bottom vents in the tent. That fan blows air directly at the bulb to keep it cool and also keeps air moving around the plant (which is just a coincidence for right now because the light is so low.) I also have a larger 8'' fan at the top of the tent which creates enough pull to suck cool air in from the bottom of the tent and exit out of the top. My temps are 79 high and 70 low...I also must state that the room is air conditioned which drastically helps, and is the main reason why I don't need in line ducting. Here are some pics to help give you an idea of my setup.

The tent is 32" x 32" x 64" (approx. 2.5' x 2.5' x 5' tall), it has 3 flap vents on the bottom, and 4 circular pull-tie vents at the top. I'm currently have 2 of the 3 bottom flaps open for cold air to be pulled in, and the one large circular vent at the top which holds the large 8'' fan.

Hope that all makes sense! let me know if you have any other questions. Peace!

Day 13 (just looked at my calendar, my last post was actually day 12)

Hey everyone, she's coming along nicely. I raised the light 2 inches because she was getting close. Probably going to start LSTing her next week. Here are some pictures from every angle.

That tent is sweet. Who makes it and how much does it cost? I'm debating wether to build a wooden box and paint it matte white or buy a tent like that. Depending on the cost it might be cheaper to go with the tent.

The tent was mad cheap, and the quality is great! I got it off of Amazon for $55. I couldn't find the exact link, but this one is almost identical. If you look around you can find them for really cheap now. This is my first time growing with one.

Thanks. You like the tent so far?

Day 15,

I'll probably start tying her down tomorrow. The plan is to train her to the left edge of the pot, then continue to LST her around the edge in to a circle. Once she vegs into a full circle, I'll flip her to 12/12. Probably another 2-3 weeks of vegging before all of that though. Here's some pics.

Hey sixspeedv, temps are great IMO. I have one small fan running now, and will add larger fans once she gets larger. So I have two temp gauges, one at the soil line (in the pot), and the other at the base of the tent. the temps from each gauge are as follows.

soil line temps (in the pot) = 79 low, 87 high
base of the tent (the floor) = 76 low, 84 high

The average temperature is reading at 86 degrees, and I've read that skunk enjoys higher temps, so I think i'll be good, especially once I raise the light a little and get better airflow going. The grow guides that I've read specifically for skunk say to avoid temps above 90, so I think 86 degrees should be great!

Opinions?
What are the ambient temps in the room you keep your tent in? Your temps should be fine for soil and even more so if the strain prefers the warmth. Love the setup nice and clean.

HELLO FRIENDS...I'M BACK!

Just like my previous grows, I will be updating this thread daily with pictures, from seed to harvest. I've officially got the new area setup, just waiting on the seed to germinate. Here are some details and pictures of the new area in the meantime.

Seed: Highsupplies, Feminized Afghan
Tent/Space: Diamond Mylar, 32" x 32" x 64" (approx. 2.5' x 2.5' x 5' tall)
Soil: MG
Pot: 5.5 gallon planter
Light: Veg. Phase = 250 watt, 6500K CFL
Flower Phase = 250 watt, 6500K CFL + 26 watt 2700K CFL x4 (add more as needed)
Vent: TBD (waiting to gauge my running temps first)

I'm expecting the seed to germinate by tonight, so I'll post up some pics as soon as that happens. Thanks for stopping by friends, and stay tuned in for some fun!

Also, I have my previous grow linked in my signature below if you're interested in checking out my last grow.

PEACE!
Subbed! I'm going to try out those 250 watt cfl too :).

Thanks, trying to keep this setup nice and clean. My last grow was without a tent, and shit became a little chaotic near the end. My ambient temp is a constant 70 degrees f (21 C).

Day 17,

She's coming along nicely now. Watering every 3-4 days at the moment with just plain water. I'll start nutes soon. I still haven't LST'd her at all yet...probably do that this weekend. Here are the pics.

Day 18,

I LST'd her main branch today. Two fan leaves were unfortunately lost in the process, but she'll be fine. I bent the main cola all the way to the left, and bent all the other little shoots to the right. It looks really messy, but it will be a nice canopy in the end. Here are the pics.

So, over the weekend half of my 250 watt CFL decided to quit on me. I'm in the process of getting a refund on the unit because it's new and less than 30 days old. I added some hanging CFLs around the plant to compensate for large bulb giving out on me.

To make matters worse, I dropped one of those CFLs on the plant when I was installing them. It knocked off one of her smaller side branches. I was able to preform some ghetto cloning methods and now have a nice clone growing. The plant didn't seem to mind the abuse too much.

Gonna LST when I get home...I'll post before and after pics later! PEACE

now might be the time for you to check out one of the LED lights like the one I am using, its the marshydro 300, but the new model is being sold with the 5 watt led's, it puts out over 7000 lumens and covers a 2 foot by 2 foot area I have an older 1st gen 300 with the 3 watt chips, any ways, take a look on ebay its only $67 dollars, with free shipping, and it should run allot cooler than a bunch of cfl's?,, here is a pic of the light I am using the mars 300 with 2 cree cobs the cxa3070 , this light set up is making around 24,000 lumens

I'll have to definitely check that out for my next grow. That's a lot cheaper than what I thought they were.
