Ok so I planted a germinated seed a few days ago, it rose above the surface within two days, I've been checking it every 12 hrs and when I checked tonight, the steam had snapped off! What do I do is there anything to do?! It's still in the veg state and obviously hasn't started to flower yet, will it repair it's self?

It it's a seedling, its not flowering yet. Are there any leaves left on it? Or is it just a stem?

You can always wait and see, but most likely if it's just the stem it's not going to make it.

Yes it's just a stem unfortunately 😕 before it snapped the head was starting to open up I put that part in the soil to try and clone it but not sure if that will work.

No what I think happened was that I didn't get it light right away when it breached the soil as I was told to wait until the fist flower pops before adding the low light. I had it on 24/0 on a 60watt cfl but didn't add it until a day late

Would a light issue snap the seedling? I was told not to add light until there were two sets of leaves, but even then I don't think a light issue is going to snap a stem.

I can't see any natural reason a seedling's stem would snap. From a common sense perspective, I mean.

But my first seedling damped out yesterday, so I don't really know what I'm talking about.

you never know dude, I had a seedling that a CFL lamp fell on and burned the top off down to a 2 inch stick and it's nearly 6 feet tall now with two heads on it! if it's your last seed, I'd at least wait a few days and see what happens.

Thanks for the Info guys. I have a shit tone of seeds left just hate loosing a trooper! I just pulled out the old stem, I left some others germinating today and they have already popped! Can I re use the old soil? Since the plant hasn't start growing yet? Or is it best to replace it?

Hey 420rival, you need to do some basic reading on growing, and I'm saying that with full respect for someone just starting out. Flowering is a term that applies to the growth period of the plant following the vegetation stage. The vegetation stage starts formally when the seedling starts growing new sets of leaves. The first set of leaves, the little round cotyledons, usually appear when the seedling first breaks soil (or whatever the grow medium is). If your seedling hadn't even shown cotyledons, it was about 8 weeks away from flowering.

At some point, if you use basic terminology incorrectly, someone will give you advice based on what you WRITE, not knowing what you actually mean. This could mess up your grow when you're much further down the line and have invested a lot of time and money in it. And that would be a shame.

Good luck!

Thank you the seedling had shown the cotyledon but snapped because I believe my cfl had fallen. There's just so much stuff to know about growing and every website I got to says their own opinion and that's why I'm finding it hard to get good solid accurate information. I totally understand what you mean by the terminology as a car tuner (2008 subaru wrx ) I hate it when people mean one thing but say another haha
