Seedlings and lighting ?s

Hey everyone, the question I have is can I use my 150w hps light from the start on the seedlings? My previous grow I started them out with 2 100w cfls and they seemed like they stretched a bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance RIU community!!!!

i assume you mean 100w equivalent cfl because i have 2 42 watt cfl on my seedlings and they are LOVING the light. (check my grow in my sig to see)
but you could use the 150w hps.. id still recommend using the cfl's. how close did you have the cfl to the plant? hopefully less than 3 inches away.

Yes 100w equivalent of cfl lighting. And I had the lights right at 3 inches maybe less. But I can't seem to find those around my house so I figured if I kept the 150hps about a 1.5-2ft away would be ok until they get bigger and stronger. Just don't wanna fry em...lol

I'm wondering the same I have 3 46w/150w equivalent cfls over 5 plants they are about 3 days old should I veg with those or should I just use my 400whps. I am currently under 18/6

i find the cfl's make baby plants really happy, i persoanlly put my babies under my 1000w for 12 hours a day just for a little boost and they love it, but i also keep them almost 3 feet from the light. when my main plants are 18inches from the 1000watt.

Well ima try to veg for about a month or so with cfls. Then switch to 12/12 with my 400watter see what comes out next grow I'm gonna veg with a 400wmh bulb and flower with a 400whps I can't wait but that's when I have a really good grow box
