Seedlings Stretching?

They look tall to me, especially for a OG Kush and Hindu combo. Maybe i'm wrong, I hope. They were under 2 T8 aquarium bulbs but when I thought they were stretching 2 days ago I switched to 1000W HPS, but I'm terrified at this close they may bleach. Temp it not a issue. Any comments would be welcomed.

add some dirt to the pot to bury some of that stem. Also got to agree with not burning a 1000w for those little seedlings. Put the t8 back up just inches from the plants.

Thanks everyone. I think after they wake up today I will switch back to the floro and add a few till the seedlings get a bit bigger.

they were watered last night, that may be why they look wet but I don't plan on watering again for 2 days

You need to have the lights right above them not off to the side. Also, I never start seeds in pots that size. If you had started those seeds in smaller pots you'd be able to fit them all close under the lights until they got bigger. If you're growing from seed or starting clones for that matter you should get a light that is better suited for that purpose than those aquarium lights or 1000 watt HPS. Can't you turn that HPS down to 600? Is it dual bulb so you can put a MH in it for veg?

The lights are directly over the seeds I just moved it for pics. You are def right about the pot size, I didn't consider that initially, but next time I certainly will. It is a dual ballast so I can switch it out to a MH, money is just the issue right now. I do have a "dimmer" I use on my 6" inline fan to dial down the power, maybe I'll look into if that can be used safely on my 1000W

I wouldn't even try to use that dimmer for your ballast. I thought maybe you had dimmable digital ballast that has different wattage settings. I have a 600 that has a switch that allows it to be dimmed to 400 and 250. Most dimmable 1000's let you dim to 750 and 600.

I have a t5 less than an inch from my seedling, but she's working on her first 5 finger leaves. when she was the size of yours she was about 1 to 1 1/2 inches away. IIRC t5s are more powerful than t8s, so as long as they're not showing any signs of light stress, I would get them as close as I can.
