Is it recommended to start seedlings in rock wool if your eventually goint to plant them in organic material?

Some people do. By organic material do you mean a soil mix? If so, I would simply start them off in a beer cup or something, and slowly transport them into bigger pots as the root system expands.

Its not really nessary to do it like that, but it will work..I'm not sure if I would recommend it..but I'm sure a lot of people would...i

I put my seeds directly into rockwool, I find there's less handling if I do it this way... I use the rockwool with no holes so I can push the seeds just under the surface of the rockwool... Works great for me....
