I've had seeds like that before, sometimes they need to be scored a little to let the moisture in to activate the germination.

i scarify my seeds with sandpaper, and ive germed nearly all of them to perfection,

5 tga vortex germed and are now outdoors with no issues whatsoever
5 tga pandora's box germed with 1 turning out to be a mutant. reeaaaallly weird looking right now and i love it.
i lost one of my 5 jilly beans plants after germ to bad seed i suppose. (sheds tear for its lost potential.)

I've heard of that method before... does it matter what grit you use? should it be finer or courser? and I'm assuming you want to rub lightly right? (thats what she said... sorry, couldnt help it...) I have only had a 50% success rate w/ paper towel germ. and I'm looking to try to up my numbers :) thanks!!

don't give up just yet, I've had a seed germinate after 10 days. It's rare, but it can happen!

I do this too, all I use is a nail clipper file and just scuff the seed up a little bit.

Sometimes shit like this just happens. I ordered quality seeds from a top notch breeder "Reserva Privada OG#18" ordered 6 females and only 3 seeds germinated. It happens dude, just part of the game and it sucks because good beans are super expensive.

Hello,

Might be luck of the draw. Because usually, if you use the zip lock + paper towel method you should have anything around 95%-100% germinating . Having them in a dark spot with room temperature or anything between 70-85. I put them in my cupboard and they usually germ after 24H having mostly 99% germ ratio. The 1% being the rare seeds that either was not mature enough or just plain bad.

The keys factor are;

Be sure that the towel is wet humid but not too much wet.
Do not lock the whole bag. Let a little fence to have a little air flow
Be sure they are in the dark
Open the bag every 12hour to give em more air

Hope it helped

Wish you a nice day.

i take a matchbox, tape a piece the size of it, of sandpaper on top and bottom, put my seeds in and shake it for roughly 20-30 seconds, open them see if the seeds are fine, if it looks like they got scuffed and water can penetrate better, then i dont need to shake i again, seeds tend to have a coating that helps them from being digested by birds, or other animals. i think it helps but a good seed should pop no matter what.
