hi everyone, my plants are a couple of week from harvest time and ive noticed some tiny seeds deep in the bud, im really not sure what to do, do i crop now n have slighty under grown but seed free weed or leave the bud to mature n the seeds to get bigger?
or will the bud even mature anymore since its surely putting most of its energy into producing seeds?

im not sure why theyve both started to seed i havent been in contact with any males, although i did start these from seeds that i got in a bag of weed and 2 of the 4 i planted turned to males but i got rid of them as soon as i had doubt, and about 2 month ago.

would you crop now or leave?

Peace :joint:

Could've been an insect pollination. If it's a strain you wanna keep, grow the seeds. If not, check your trichs and grab 'em if at least mostly cloudy. Tough break this late.

to be truthful i want to get some feminized seeds and about 15% of the trichs are brown/orange

The reason you have seeds is probably because you grew them from bagseed and the genetics were not stable. They were probably genetic hermies and that is why there were seeds in the original buds.
I would let the bud mature. But if you say 15% of the trichomes are already amber, than you don't have a couple of weeks to finish. You can pull them right now. If you are talking about 15% of the hairs are brown/orange, then you have a while to go.
I would rather have buds full of seeds that get you high instead of buds with little seeds that doesn't get you high. All those tiny seeds will taste like crap. You may as well let them finish so you can pull them out and actually have decent tasting weed.

ok after looking under a normal light rather than my 600w i can now say about 30% of the hairs are orange/brown.
im so not sure what to do.

Hairs are not trichomes. To see the trichomes you need a magnifying device. From the pic, it looks like you have a few more weeks to go. If you are going to judge it from the hairs, pull it when like 80% of the hairs have turned orange.

For that matter, hairs are not hairs (cillia) . . . they're pistils.
Harvesting by pistil degradation is generally not a good idea. As noted above, it's all in the trichome maturity/formation (resin glands).

had the same problem... finish it up bro, no point in choppen it early and wasten all those other months.. seeds arent that big of a deal, you peel them out or grind them up and there will still be bud that u can get high off.... +1 for do not chop

I would let them got to the end, I grow a bag seed and towards the end one smaller branch produced some seeds, but it wasnt a big deal, your plant wasnt pollinated so there wont be ton of seeds ie. mexi swagg. part of your plasnt just hermied a lil bit its common

I realize they are pistils, I do have a horticulture degree. But I figured that if I said pistils, since he didn't know what trichomes were, that he would have no idea what I was talking about.
I wanted to make sure he didn't chop his plant thinking it was ready because he had confused pistils and trichomes. 15% of the pistils being amber and 15% of the trichomes being amber is many weeks worth of difference. I just didn't want him to cut it too early.
But thank you.

ok thanks for the input guys, i have chopped a little bud, i know i shouldnt but im a heavy smoker and theres a drought at the mo. its currently drying but i am smoking some now and i am stoned but i can hear the buds crackling and taste them every so often.
so you think theres a few week left? ive flushed for about 2weeks now, do you think i should put them back on nutes for a week or just keep feeding water? i was using vita bloom and vita buddy. also the reason i thought they were due is i started budding around 25th june so it would be 8 weeks around now, i guess there more like 10 weeker then?

I personally would give at least another dose of nutes. If you are flushing properly, you shouldn't need much more than 7 days of flush, I'd say 10 at the most. And if you chop during the lights off period, the nutes and sugars have drained to the roots and not as much will be in the buds.
When about 50-60% of the hairs turn amber, that is when I would start the flush. Then harvest when about 80% are amber. Juts remember that it will continue to put on new white pistils even up until harvest. So its a little more difficult to judge by the hairs. If you just spend the $10 on a little hand held scope you will be able to see the trichs and harvest at a more precise time.

ok thanks, and would i look at the trichs on the leaves or on the buds and where on the plant?, low at the bottom or high or middle...??

Look at the trichs on the buds. Check each bud individually if you want to get real technical with it, and pull each one as it finishes. I just check a couple of the large buds on the top portion of the plant. When they are finished I just chop the whole plant.
