seeds or clones?

I see alot of people on here using seeds and I from my own experience wonder why? I have a great strain of white widow going and I just clone it. I could see if you were starting from scratch. Why else would you start from seed?

With seeds you don't know if it will be male or female, when you know that the plant is a female and take clones from it. it should be just the same as the plant that you took it from.

The only time i grow from seeds is when i am growing something new. I've been cloning for a while now... The only other reason i could think of starting over with seeds would be to cross-breed.

yeah alot of people cant get ahold of clones and space is a big issue. Most people who grow just do it in the small scale so they dont necessarily have 2 cabs to vegg and flower

To answer you question baddog40, I dont even smoke pot. So as long as people keep tripping over themselves to get the widow ill keep growing it. The main reason for the original question was just to see how the other half live, you know? I live in an area with a strong growing community so clones of 20 different things are easy for me to come by. The widow just happens to be the king of the hill here.

The problem though is if one smokes the same strain for a prolong period of time they start building an immunity to that particular strain, not to mention people like variety. I try to have at least 4 different strains going at any given time.

Your more of a man than me. I did that for awhile and its a lot of extra work. It seemed that each strain had some little thing it needed that the other ones didnt so a guy has 3 or 4 different programs at once. Id rather just rather start something different when the people demand something different.

nice plant but seeds my preff and like it or not seeds still nicer looking plants if i was a commercial grower by all means yes i would use clones but im not and i like variety and this talk that clones save grow time ive tryed it n i think its a load of balls ya have to wait on em rooting and when i planted seeds with the few clones i tryed by the time they rooted the seeds were the same size and i got better harvest of the seeds not by much but still more. clones to my look like the human version of a hobo and seeds ur average joe llf so ill stick to my fem seeds and my new found love DWC still on first grow but they b monsters and not once have i nute burned them all it takes is a load aff reading and the b in bud n i got a crap cam n heres the first pics ive ever shown

I keep a large collection of seeds for a couple reasons.
1. You can move seeds easily. You can't always take clones with you when you move.
2. I like knowing that I can grow something different later without having to keep a plant going.
3. I like breeding.

Once I get a plant I like, I'll just take a good clone and turn that into a mother. Whenever I buy a new pack of seeds, I always breed two of the better plants so I can get as many seeds as I need. It's always good to have backup.
