politicians do it every day, but i never thought i would see people so young do it...

last night i was at a party and was talking to this guy, not even 2 years older than i am

telling me how he made a shit load of money designing a program for google where you can take some ones picture and instantly find their facebook or myspace etc, using biometrics

i asked him if he ever thought about the moral implications of the potential abuses that can come out of such a technology, i explained how any trace of being anonymous in public would be gone, and privacy could be gutted using such technology

he smiled and said "who cares if people abuse it, im making money off of it"

sadly, this attitude is prevalent in our youth today, and greed will be the ruin of us all

i wouldnt be too concerned. if he didnt do it someone else would. its the natural progression, fingerprints to eyescanners, to dna, to pic recognition. it wont be long till we have a machine that can get a dna sample just by looking at you. its inevitable

Yes, but its the ATTITUDE of "So what if its harmful, I'm making a buck and that's all that's important."

This is a attitude that is seen throughout business today. I'm in a business where a person's written, signed promise is relied upon. To break that promise affects countless lives and fortunes. Its amazing to me as an older person, how quickly some in the present generation of adults think so callously about signed contracts. You've heard of the "Now Generation," the "Yuppie Generation," the "X-Generation," .... Well, welcome to the new "Fuck You Generation!"
