Semi-Annual "Follow-Up" and Additional Fee? for Patient Certification?

The State Health and Human Services recently sent out a letter to caregivers and I would assume patients stating that a recommendation is good for one year and that DR's can not charge for a 6 month visit. If I where you I would call the Maine medicinal marijuana office and verify that issue. Then go tell Sulak to pack it.
I found a DR in Damrascotta that charges $219 for the initial visit and $149 for a years renewal. If you like I will post his contact info after I clear that issue with them.

You mis-read the letter. It says a recommendation must be good for one year. It does not say the DR can't charge for a 6 month visit.

Try to get one of your "normal" doctors to issue the recommendation. You should at least ask. I have been seeing more patients lately that have been issued a recommendation by there PCP.

Yeah, I believe what is says is that they cannot issue a recommendation for six months, or less than 1 year.

My PCP would give me a recommendation in a heartbeat if he were allowed to. It is one of the largest providers in the state, with dozens of doctors. Privately owned. He explained to me that because it remains illegal in federal law (and despite the recent assurances from the Obama administration), their malpractice insurance would skyrocket. So, they don't let their doctors do it. It needs to at least get removed from Schedule I status.
