sensi seeds Skunk #1 or super skunk ?

hello all, had a bit of a rough few months (violent attack at home) but back on the bike now.
i am trying to make a move towards more traditional strains like mexican sativa's, livers , and skunk.
so i've done a bit of reading and it seems to me that everyone is solidly behind sensi seeds skunk #1.
the thing is i have had some poor fortune with seeds from said breeder, is this the same genetics from 2013ish ?
if i'm barking up the wrong tree some recommendations would be great !
thanks in advance.

Sensi's Skunk was something I was considering myself but opted instead for Ceres version of it. It's in veg now, doing well.

Super skunk is very good an fair yield as well. However if you grow it do NOT let it get hot. It is very temp sensitive. If it overheats, the bud will stretch and effect is very bad. Bad smoke, worse look.

Grown good though its great and very recommended.

i always recommended super skunk by g13 labs, based on a grew a good few years ago.. super stunky, loud as can be, and real deal road kill skunk smell, but a month or so ago when i went looking for some more beans to share the wealth, i found out i had the name wrong, and the strain i'm always talking about is called thai super skunk, not just plan super skunk.. these were freebies from the attitude probably a good 6 or 7 years ago, and i can't talk enough good about them, but i don't think you can get them anymore sadly..
supposedly, all of the famous uk versions of skunk like cheese and blues and livers all came out of a pack of sensi's skunk number 1, but this was from years ago, and sadly, i don't think much of what sensi has to offer nowadays has much to do with their older gear, even strains with the same names aren't quite what they once were..

@growingforfun temps are something that i can be a bit lazy on so thanks for the heads up on that mate, i found a temp tollerant sativa thats big yield and done in 8 weeks ,a little gem from philosopher seeds called "jack el frutero" if you like to see really crazy vigor you will appreciate it, the buds taste and smell like fruit salad sweets and there was loads of it.
it's hard not to be tempted by all the wonderful hybrids.@racerboy71 i like g13 labs , i've grown their haze before, unfortunately i did it little justice as i was just starting out growing it was about 5 years ago.
£32 for 5 fem is ok too

white label seed co has kali haze but only regs and they're like nearly £80 for 10 ....
£8.00 a seed for regs is way too steep for me.
Paid about £1.40 for the above and read some positive reviews on it, apparently despite the 'Ceres' label, I heard its a John Sinclair Skunk, though that's just what I read.

Super Skunk is more potent and higher yielding. Skunk 1 is too inbred to have much vigor. You can find a good pheno here and there but it's generally better for part of a breeding project than an actual production strain.
worth thinking about my temps to enable me to run the super skunk then

sorry john sinclair.....confusing him with a house music producer lol ..... i gotta stop smoking this delicious candy
Yeah, from what I read he's an old hippy from L.A. who got busted in 1968 for giving 2 joints to an undercover cop and was sentenced to 10 years.
Seed company was named after him in tribute.. :eyesmoke:

i'm gonna grab myself a handful of those mate...thanks , bob sinclair is a name i've not heard for a long time, hopefully a nice old skool smoke to be had :-)
Well, IMHO seed price isn't always a guarantee of superior genetics and as I'm on a budget, I thought of making my own seeds.
Aim is to make a real Afghani resin monster, so got some Spliff Afghan, Nirvana's Aurora Indica and some KC Brains Afghani Special someone gave me. Those plus the Skunk should provide the options.

Yeah there's a lot of mediocre seeds around these days. The most potent and highest yielding strain I got out of many tried was Bubble Bomb by Bomb Seeds. Might be a good place to look for seeds. They have a Gorilla Glue cross out now, haven't tried it yet though. They seem to put more effort into their breeding than most. Most strains I've tried are just too weak. It's like they don't even test them before crossing.

Got THC, Hash, Berry and Big Bomb in my seed stash. Never grown them yet but from what I've read they are good.
Have so many seeds man, its hard to chose which ones I'm gonna do for my next grow, so I made the plan to make my own skunks and Afghanis.
Growing for medical purposes and need a k.o.stone for spinal pain and for fun, keeps me focused on a plan with an outcome.

Actually if you want a sativa Sensi's Mexican gets good reviews, probably faster ripening than more equatorial ones like Thai or Colombian.
i just treated an afghan x domina with coloidal silver solution in the hope i can tease some seeds out of her and a cross with mexican could be luvly... i have tried a smoke of the the sensi seeds mexican and it did kick my head in.
orlando737 the jack el frutero i grow is an eyelid dropper, if you have pain from muscle spasm it has very high THCv , it took 2 years to find the right strain because i use it for trigeminal neuralgia

Must be difficult finding THE right strain for your particular condition. Best I've had was Mazari, an Afghan crossed with Sensi Skunk, though some say its Sensi Star...
Man, Oh M A N....!. was that some smoke, forgot about any pain and just about everything else too. Made myself coffee and omitted the coffee part, twice.!. Amazing stuff..!. Got 2 fems from a UK seed-bank (not sure if I'm allowed to give its name here) for £2.50p. each.
Never pollinated weed before but if the AI or the Aghani are female, I'll take cuts off them and use next time then plant maybe plant KCs Afghan next time and see what go's. I've another skunk going, a fem Royal Queen Special Queen.
If the Ceres skunk turns out male, then I'll dust the SQ and see what turns out...
I usually check on eu.seedfinder and have noticed that Super Skunk is usually Skunk x Afghani, but haven't noticed two different skunks crossed, what do you think?

i'm looking at trading up my 1000w hps for some led alternatives but there's so much in the way of vague specs etc that i just get frustrated with looking
I suggest checking out the Quantum board thread in the LED forum. Seems to be the most practical choice in LEDs at the moment, don't even need to buy heat sinks apparently.
