Sentinel CHHC-1 software

In case anyone is interested I found some software that will capture readings from the CHHC-1 and exports the data to an Excel spreadsheet. The software install is in Chinese or Japanese but just press the "next" button and it installs fine on Windows XP. The program itself is in English. http://drop.io/whl70rf/

Firstly, sick find.

Secondly, have you used this yet? I'm kinda leery of it being a virus.

Also, do you simply hook your computer up to the Sentinel? I'm not very tech savvy, obviously.

Stay leery! Think about it.. does your Sentinel come with a USB hook-up? That's what I thought, Nope.

If anyone knows how this program actually works, Please Share with The Class.

I requested it from the mfr's website http://grow-gps.com/ and it was emailed to me. It is pre-release software.

having a USB hookup means nothing... when using a large scale growing (with the Sentinel CHHC-1 or the new CHHC-2).. there is a probably a desktop computer hooked up to this... using a standard serial cable is just a legacy port. Serial connections aren't iffy, they're just old.

anyone know where i can get a program for the sentinel chhc-4 thanks.

the OP's links is broken. in case anyone is interested i found software for the CHHC-1. there is no software for the CHHC-4. i contacted the company by email. http://grow-gps.com/?page_id=41 its on this page or your can directly download it here http://grow-gps.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/CHHC-software1.zip im not sure if it works with the chhc--4. i am going to test it as soon as my rs-232 to usb adapter comes in. such bullshit they're still using serial ports on these things. wtf are they thinking it should be USB.

its looks pretty straight forward and simple. you can download it from the link posted in my post above and check it out for yourself. i dont have the CHHC-1 but when my cables comes in im going to test it on my CHHC-4. the program is made for the CHHC-1 though. i will post answers as soon as i can.

I have a CHHC-4 so this looks interesting but does it just capture readings and record them? Doesn't the CHHC-4 and CHHC-1 show you highs and lows for the day anyways? I wonder what substantial benefits there are to using this software.........
