hey guys whats up. I had a question about the chronic strain from serious. it says not to top them which is ok with me but what i was wanting to do is pinch side branches to encourage more shoots for clones and bud sites. anyone out there had any experience growing theses out?

I just grew some chronic, but it was from seeds my boy breeded. I had no problems topping them, they are really short naturally, so not necessary for height reasons. My top/fimmed plants yeilding nicely, so I wouldn't be afraid of topping them. Yeild was nice 1-2 zips per plant, GL.

Hey Nino!

I've never grown Chronic but I didn't want to leave you out twisting in the wind. I've done some research on it over the years, reading reviews, and from what I gather you want to leave the side branches grow as the are - the buds will get very large. I'd suggest pinching a few branches on a few plants to see how they come out, then you'll know next time. If you have enough plants do a whole plant with the expectation that you may get less yield than the plants left to their own devices.

Now that someone else has posted in your thread other people who've grown Chronic may come on to correct me and you'll get the word from a grower.

Best of luck!

"These plants have an amazing yeild, with beautiful buds, and a potent high. "

"The sativa plant produced very large fluffy buds, while the indica had more side branching and tight dense buds. "

"my mother is a medium height plant that grows one main cola if left small which is ideal for SOG but the longer you let it veg the more branches you get."

"The top cola was a pleasure to watch grow. It was huge! (in the end weighed 20 grams). The rest of the plant took on the form of a christmas tree. All the buds on the ends of branches were pretty big. Chronic performed as advertised."
