i usually grow in 5 gallon containers and that only allows me to ggrow 6 plants max at once. i was wondering am i better off growing like 50 small plants? whats the benefit beside knowing a clone is female. why clone when you can buy femenized seeds? well now i have some ok size , twice a red party cup size, and what if i just grow em much smaller and pack em in to get em in. is this a dumb idea. will the plants stop growing because of the small containers and be a waste of time?

I went from 5 gal. to 3 gal. and they still don't get very root bound but I'll stay there because the smaller you go the faster it dries out and the more you have to stay on top of watering. When I start seeds in a small container and the plant starts to grow, I have to water twice a day as they get closer to transplant. So yes you can go a lot smaller.

you can plant in smaller containers ....it won't effect growth as long as the roots get the nutrients and oxygen they need, you cant grow 10 footers in party cups but you can get good harvests from plants in small pots.... .....let's see...I can take clones from my female plants....or .....buy expensive seeds ......I think you answered your own question there.....hope this helps...

Ask fdd2blk how he did this, this is his plant posted today from the 160z challenge thread. This is not at all easy or optimal but it can be done. Don't go this far though. Requires a true ninja master and diligent daily care.
Yes, often you will yield better and faster with a sea of small plants. (SOG) You should flip clones though if you have any concern about time frame or want maximum yield per year.

when working with clones it's a good rule to go 1 gal per month of growth........ i got 3 seperate batchs in right now, all in 3 gal pots, first 2 batchs are 2 plants per pot and the newest batch are 3 per pot....
the plants i sexed with are 2 per pot and about 18" to 26" with huge buds.
my 3 per pot batch is kinda my exsperiment to see just how good they will do cramed like that, got seperatore in the pots to keep the roots from chockin each other off....

in a 5'x8' room i can fit 40 pots and still able to open the door, my mother room has 7 full size plants about 3'-4' high in a 5'x6' room, and they hog the hole room.
i must say too, the sexers are 2' and under and have massive buds on them at 2 plants per pot.. :weed:

also keep in mind that just because you see a huge plant growing in a thimble, doesn't make it real. i can cut down a big plant and make it appear to have grown in a tiny container too. i've seen this done many times. just cause you see something on a forum, doesn't make it real.

fdd2blk would never have to cheat that. With others you are right, trust but verify.

Here is my plant that I didn't even work on feeding. This is a miracle grow soil and water ignored mother I let the spider mites have their way with for a while:
Oh but I did feed every once in a while when the soil ran out of nutes with regular shultz plant food. The top inch and a half is just sand to keep fungus gnats out, and there's a bunch of lava rock in the bottom it's not even using the whole container. Don't believe me I'll pull it out of the pot and snap a pic of the roots.

hey, don't get me wrong. i'm not saying that is fake, but i've seen fakes. when you can't see something in person, it's easy to make it look real.

Oh ok, well I don't think you'll find too much of that going on here, too many people know too much to be easily fooled.
