SEX outdoors at what age?

How old does a plant need to be before you can tell its sex? I'm growing outdoors with some random seeds I acquired. Good sun pretty little plants that I'm LST-ing. about 4 1/2 weeks old. I'm wicked anxious.

Thats some THICK stalks!! Mine are a little older and thin as hell
I think it's this really expensive soil I got. Cast of Maine "platinum growers"
I was going to try to mix up some of Sub Cools super soil, but the woman at the farm and feed store pointed this out and I'm gald she did. I also buried about two inches of the skinny stalk when I moved them from the starter thingies to the pots they are in now

with outdoors, you are not really in control unless you want to cover them up every night to create an extended dark cycle.

I would find my plants not pre-flowering until the nearly end of July....so would accelerate by moving them into a dark room.

I found that even at 14/10 they would start to flower, so they don't really need 12/12 to trigger

So to answer your question: it's not the age of the plant but the amount of daylight hours that tells the plant it's time to flower

where do you live..... big difference between Florida and Alaska in terms of daylight/dark hours

I now use auto-fem's....no worries about the hours of daylight

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll just wait till they do their thing. I live in New England. We're still getting about 15 hours of daylight a day. I fim'd one yesterday because the new top looked about right, not too big, not too small. Did 2 more today because when I got home today, the one I did yesterday looked so good. the last one is a different strain. some sort of kush I'm told. Broader leaves a little deeper green and not nearly so prolific in its growth. But it already has a little stink. We'll see what we see. not yet 5b.jpg not yet 5b.jpg not yet 5 a.jpg not yet 5k.jpg
