So, first off im using a 150w hps, fox farm ocean forest soil, along with tiger bloom. Currently growing Humboldt seed organization Green Crack Fem... So the plant started to flower great, everything seemed well. But now im noticing some calyx's that are protruding off the node slightly, sitting on their own stem. I believe this to be a sign of a male flower, but ive read before that male calyx will cluster, while these are only 1 per nodal side. so 2 per node, which if im not mistaken in a female characteristic. they seem to have pointed tips but no hairs coming out, i took one off and opened her up to see nothing but just green. Any help would be great! thanks and happy growing!

Yes those are seed pods. Sorry pal. You can pick them off but it looks like it's really early and flower and you got a a lot popping up.

Damn, second time in a row. I really don't understand. I'm gonna pluck them off they are only on the lower mid part of the plant.

Hermie, kill them , dont use the seeds or the genetics anymore, it dilutes the breed. hermies are getting more and more common these days , I just had my first experience with them myself . Banana OG . out of 3 seeds two were girls , one was a beast and i cloned it , all the clones from it hermied out with in 3 weeks flowering , my setup is dialed in tight , no issues. since i did not have anything else going i just kept picking off the pollen sacks before they opened , it's awesome smoke and no seeds but it's not worth the hassle IMO unless that's all you have .

Appreciate all the help guys, I cleaned my grow area with bleach and warm water, starting up some dark devil auto now from sweet seeds, hopefully they dont hermie as this would be #3 in a row, can an auto be affected by light leaks? wouldnt make much sense considering you can run 24/0 right? Welp, we will see lol. Assuming light leaks had been my issue prior.

I would not run it at 24/0 , I found the best light schedule for auto's was 20 on 4 off, they need a little rest ...

This is good to know! I'm a total noob and am growing a couple of autos too. So have you done tests with the 12/12 18/16 also? I wondered about this since they're autos they could potentially run longer times but wasn't sure if it is still best to try and replicate nature's clock a little...
This forum rocks, learning heaps. Sorry if I hijacked OP. Just a curious question.

Well more light ='s more bud's , I have ran them at 12-12 . it did not give it enough light and the plants suffered in quality and quanity , 18-6 works better then 12-12 but not as good as 20-4 , 24/0 there is no break for the plants, I'm not a botanist but they do need at least a little break from light for certain processes and IMO 20-4 will out produce any other light schedule I have tried with auto's . need any help or questions start a conversation and I'll try to answer them :) BB

Run autos at whatever you want. Whenever i did them i did 19/5-24/0-20/4 and 18-6 and they're all the same in the end. Only thing that changes is your electric bill. In the end autos cost more to run than photos do. (light wise)

You will get more quantity if you run more light, IMO that has been my experience , And yes autos do cost more to run , An extra 2 hours a day of 1k hps would add up, My 220 watt vero 29 led light, not so much , It's a nice option for people who dont have the space or the time to really have a "real" room setup , they can be grown just fine in a pc grow box and you would be surprised what they will give you , Some of the most potent smoke I ever produced was an auto , Afghan kush ryder from world of seeds , I would not smoke it cause it was too much for me to handle , Watched one guy have an anxiety attack from it , was funny too cause he pulled a cheech in cheech and chongs up in smoke before he started taking bong rips , "I can smoke this whole bag" etc etc lol, After about 5 mintues and 5 hits he was freakin out
