do you have any pics you can post up so I can take a look. The male I grew didnt show any signs of hairs or anything but seed pods and they were all over. Im going to post some pics of mine tonight once the lights come on.

I was wondering, does keeping the lights off for 24 hours then back to 12/12 every other day speed up the showing process?
hey can anybody answer this, if ur plant is a hermie how old the plant has to be so u can determine that.

Alright I wont do it. I did have to keep the lights off for 24 hours a few days ago because I sprayed them with neem are a precaution. I have to do it again on Friday when I spray them again. Is there something different I should do instead of spraying when the lights go out and keep them out for 24 hrs? I just figured if would be better to keep the lights off then have them get burns from the neem being on the leafs and the lights on.

I will give that a shot and just watch for burning. Do you know how many doses of neem I need to apply? I have given one spray down and friday will be the second. I know you have to do it numerous times so it builds up in the plant. I do not see any spots asides from the orginal two locations but just want to use as precaution for the babies.

How to use Neem Oil
Place Neem oil in a kitchen sink and fill the sink with hot water.
Neem oil, because its an oil, solidifies when left on the shelf for longer then 24 hours.
It needs to be warmed up before mixing it with water. Neem oil should look fluid and not solid before using.
15 minutes in a skink filled with hot water should do it.
Mix 30 ml of Neem Oil per 1 Gallon of tap water
water should be at room temperature and 1 gallon = 4 litters
alternatively mix 7.5 ml per 1 liter of water
Mix 5 ml of soap per 1 gallon of tap water
regular dish soap is ok
alternatively mix 1.25 ml per 1 liter of tap water
Shake the sprayer well
Turn the HID lights OFF
you can keep regular lights ON, so you can see.
Spray each plant
make sure you cover every inch, top to bottom
mites live on the inside part of leafs so make sure you spray there
spray the stem and the soil and the area around the plants
shake the sprayer often to make sure Neem oil and soap are well mixed
Keep lights OFF for at least 6 hours.
after 6 hours you can turn 1 light ON but keep it 4 feet away from the plants
Neem Oil is very good for plants but the plants will suffocate if the
ambient temperature goes over 25 degrees Celcius
After another 6 hours you can resume your normal growing schedule
Repeat the Spray in 3 to 5 days
Mites reproduce every 3 to 5 days so if you missed any you will get them for sure
Most mites suffocate and die after Neem Oil spray.
Those that survive will produce offspring that is unable to reproduce.
Best time to spray for mites is just before you turn the garden to Bloom Cycle.
You should spray Neem Oil whether you have mites or not, since mites live all around us all the time.
The warmth and the humidity of our gardens draws mites to this environment.

Thanks that helps a lot
I used to set up plastic lids from 1 gallon ice cream containers all over my crop when it was outside. I used a citrus dish soap, ammonia, and a touch of honey. I would have to change them every other week to discard the carcass' of all the little vermin that may infest. My mom showed me that, of all people, and I never had a bug issue...........EVER.Its safe to use indoors too. And fly strips never hurt either, especially where I live at this time of year with gnat. I am doing it all now, just as a precaution. And, havent had any in the " serum " so far. Good luck to ya man, Im subd up.

So its been two weeks now being on 12/12 and still no sign of anything? How long does it normally take for hairs to start showing? I know when I had males they showed in a week so ive been told this is a good thing but should it really take this long? I was thinking about increasing the bloom nutris, is this a good idea?

I dunno if this has a lot to do with it, but im sure it does. The light I have them on is 2 flourescent grow bulbs most of the time. I have a 150 watt hps but I do not have it on unless im there because the temp gets up to high. Do you think if I switch up to have the hps on more it will speed up the process. I know during the grow/veg stage the floures works just fine but when flowering they need the hps. If I cant keep the hps on for more then 4 hours should i switch it so I can have it on for at least 8 hours? Have you ever used a super bloom nutri as an additive? I am just using micro and bloom now but I heard about an additive that is like a super bloom. Or just leave it alone and try to keep the hps on as much as possible?

I know that 150watt is not that much but its just for 2 plants in an area thats about 2.5feet by 3.5 feet. so I figure that works out will.

I agree with fabfun. Get that HPS on em. I just added 4 150 watt HPS to mine, along with the others that I had, and a HUGE difference in a couple days. Check em out on my signature. Wish I would have done it from the get go, but money is tight. But I think you will be fine. I leave my door cracked and bought a windsheild sun reflector and taped it up with a corner of it open, then use my big ass house fan to push fresh air. Never get above 78 degrees. Use that 150 HPS, you wont regret it. Im sub'd up to keep an eye on ya. LOL

Im not sure on the spec, they are general grow flours if that helps. Each one is 40watts and I connected two parralel so its a wider bulb. I know if I look at them right before lights out the leafs are pointed up and around them. I cant hook up an exhaust fan because it will draw to much attention. I will keep the hps on them though monday- saturday and one maybe two days have to put on flours just because I leave town every weekend and they are left solo. Will two days have a great effect negatively? I can try to rig something up sp the hps is on maybe 4 hours while im out if it will really effect them. They do look really good and thickening out but just no growth of hairs visible.

should be ok to leave 150 off on weekends but we need to figure out if we can make a discreet exhaust and if u look at tubes should have numbers on them then i can tell u what spectrum

I can sex just about any plant at the 7th or 8th internode, get you a magnifier or good rerading glasses and you can see tiny nuts at the internode after they reach the 7th or 8th node, the females have a splitt v with a tiny hair comeing out of it,it may be only on two internodes on the whole plant, some strains have plenty of preflowers and some have none or only 1 or 2
