Sexing Seedling vs..

For the first time I have planted seeds and now have 3 seedlings. I ordered them online and they are a mixed bag of 'indoor mix' from Vancouver Seed Bank. 3 for 3 on the ones I've germinated so far. What I'd like is an opinion on sexing. Should I put the seedlings into 12/12 to determine their sex and then back into veg or should I clone the seedlings and sex the clones. Initially I was going to top them, root and then flip them to 12/12. But just wondering if this is a time waster. Thus far I have been working strictly with clones from a mother plant. Decided to add some new blood to the mix and rather than purchase a specific strain which costs more just bought the 10 seeds of mixed strains for $25.
Any advice is appreciated. The seedlings are looking good and healthy. One in particular is a very stalky plant. Large leaves and thick stemmed too. The other 2 are finer which skimmer stems. Will be interesting to see the difference. Of course hoping they are ladies.

I would not recommend flipping and revegging to sex them. With only 3 plants just grow them out until they show. Or do the clone and 12/12 thing if you plan a long veg and need to know.

I have many plants of the one strain I started with along with clones of that strain. These 3 are new and I am adding them with the existing. Just wanted something different in terms of smoke and experimenting/learning the difference between certain strains during the grow and flower differences. Just very excited to get a different strain into flower! I will do a couple of plants outside too.

Hi Grasshopper,
I'm with Bugeye regarding the reveg thing. It works, but you lose the most time that way. I personally like the clone for gender approach, but that technique is best for someone who is an experienced cloner. So the final technique is to just let them mature until they show pre-flowers. Fairly reliable...
Good luck,
JD

Ok so I am doing really well with clones. However I see the point about just letting them mature on their own and going from there. This may be a dumb question but I have only ever worked with clones and know the sex going in. How long will it take the seedlings to show sex. Or do they have to go into 12/12 in order for me to determine.
