Most of us came to RIU in search of tips to make better buds. a lot of us don't want chemical nutes because we smoke this stuff and chemicals in the lungs doesn't sound appetizing.

So here it is, if you have used organic nutes with great success please share your story here!

also, if anybody has tried using non conventional 'do-it-yourself' feeding methods, and it worked great, then please share the love!!!

I intend this thread to be a helpful resource for all, so I would please ask all to be respectful and No Trolling!!

Cheers!!

when using organics in my opinion "teas" are the best. The more elements you put into the tea the more micro- diverse it will be & that is what you want. The richer the color of the tea, the better.

Always use water without chlorine!

and also if you use a combo of Oyster shell flour With Dolomite Lime into the soil will help as a PH buffer!:leaf:

okay purpz, lets say someone gave you a big ol bud as a trade for a 'tea' recipe of your own creation. what would you have us cook up?

(there is no big bud btw haha)

There are so many ways about making a tea its crazy, but @ the moment i use this...

1st start with water ( without chlorine).
then i add a bit of Humus concentrate (baseline product)
i'll also add something like blood meal, fish meal, fish bone meal, crab meal,azomite---> (microbs need trace minerals to break shit down), tiny bit of molasses, a good amount of compost or some sort of beneficial bacteria product will do. I'm also using "general hydroponics" new organic line into my teas, but i don't add that stuff into my teas until the tea is almost ready to use.

Most popular brewing times are 12 hours & 24 Hours, but @ the least you want it to go 12 hours & the longest is; 72 hours.

The bag of Dr. Earth Black Label Home Grown Bag has a tea recipe on it that is simple and looks like it would be a nice tea.

5 gal bucket of water (let it sit out for 24 hours uncovered to let the chlorine evaporate out of it if you use tap water)
1 gal of Dr. Earth soil
1 cup molasses

fill the bucket up 3/4 with water and let the water sit out for 24 hours.
add 1 gal soil and 1 cup molasses to water
stir until the water is a dark color and the soil is all wet.

it says you only need about 1 cup of that tea a month for your plants.

This soil has: Fir bark fines, forest humus, peat moss, perlite, worm castings, bat guano, kelp meal, seaweed extract, aloe vera, yucca extract, ecto & endo mycorrhizae and beneficial soil microbes.

So it might actually make a good tea. Im gonna give it a try this grow. This will be my first time using this soil, so we will see how it works out, it looks like it's full of all sorts of great stuff.

Decent base tea.
Really the same as all EWC based teas since the soil has the EWC already.

In a pinch raw dirt could replace raw EWC.

Going organic was the best decision I ever made.
Work the dirt, not the plant.

If the soil is healthy the plant in healthy.
