Should I be staking?

I got ignored last time I asked this. It's not a big deal, but I had the time so I thought I'd ask. Thanks.

I'm a noob and need to know if I should stake. There's three outside, one that's 45 days into flower and two that are about 10 days (from when they got put outside). And there's four indoor under a wimpy 400 watt hps about 10 days in as well. I was thinking the indoor wouldn't need it as the buds won't get that big I'm sure, but now that they're doing the early flower stretch and have gotten up to 2 and 1/2 feet, they sway more than I'd like when I move the pots.

A bigger concern for me is when and if I should cut off those lower branches on the indoor plants (Super Silver Haze). The light seems to be getting down there pretty okay and some of the bud spots look decently healthy.

How would you stake one as wide as that bigger outdoor one? Staking the main stalk wouldn't do much as there are about five main stalks that split off arond 5 inches from the soil - I trained it a lot when it was young. It sits kinda down in that big pot and one of the bigger tops has just taken to resting on the rim a little. Maybe I could attach coat-hanger hooks to clothespins, then attach the clothespins to the rim and rest the horizontal facing tops on the hooks. Good?

I don't see any reason to stake yet. No buds to weigh the stalks down. The stems look kind thin though, and the plant looks stretchy. How far away is ur light?

Ya I know there's nothing to weigh those down yet, but don't most people stake when they switch to 12/12. Just that they were 2 feet when i started 12/12 so won't they need it for sure eventually?

The 400 watt hps is between 13 and 8 inches from the tops but I started it around 18 inches and lowered it over the first two days to avoid too much shock. I vegged under t5's that were right on the plants. But I got em from a friend who had them for way too long and was keeping them FAR from his t5. I didn't do much training to stop that becuase I have more vertical space than horizontal. I heard plants always stretch a bit right when you go to 12/12 light. I saw my outdoor Green Crack do that. Then it stopped after 6 inches and now only grows buds. It's also about 6 inches wider than it is tall so I'm hoping that doesn't happen to the indoor.

No, no one stakes unless they have a reason to. When huge buds start to weigh down branchs and break them is when you need to stake. Lighting is good. Just experiment with the light to bring it as close as possible with out burning them.

Ya i've heard that I can't have it closer than 14 inches but I know that's not totally correct. If I can keep the canopy cool, I should be able to bring the light really close.
