Should I be worried about ringing HID bulbs?

I asked in another forum but this one seems to get more traffic. I have a 400 watt digital ballast and the bulbs it came with ring a little bit. I can't find much about grow lights ringing on google. It's not loud or anything I have to be right next to it to hear it so initially I'm not that concerned but I'm told that this is really dangerous. These are the bulbs.

I've used those bulbs before and they never made any noise.

I have never had that happen, just a humm from my ballast. Are you sure you are using the correct bulp in the ballast? Some are meant to burn vertical, some horizontal, some are universial. If unsure look on the ballast for the number.

Yeah it says vertical and horizontal. I should have mentioned that my whole rig came together in a package deal so it's all compatible.

I would not be alarmed about it.
Some people can hear a "ring or buzzing" from some ballast driven lamps, more from floro's ( I can hear some of those buzz ) but, as in your case, from HID's too.

LOL,,,,don't let your wife know or she may attempt to make a silent husband whistle from it!
