Should I be worried

I've been growing in my closet now for about 2 months without any security worries.I use one light (400W hps).

Last night I noticed a helicoper flying over my house multiple times for about 20 minutes. I do live in a busy area in the UK close to the city so I figured it was nothing to be worried about.

But, this afternoon on my way home there was a few police vans going up and down the road and also I could see a helicopter which seemed to be flying in circles over a small area near and over my house. I turned my lighting off and after about 20 minutes the helicopter left.

I became worried that they were scanning my house for infra red coming from the lighting.

Has anyone else had a problem? Am I just being major paranoid, or is there cause for concern?

very unlikely it is for YOU.. when you are growing it is very common to think that every cop on your street is looking for you.. that comes with growing.. sucks.. but it seems to be a commmon behavior amongst growers...

yes I hear helicopters all the time now, and also a man got busted in my town over the weekend....it sucks...so not so sure I want to continue..

also the only way to get busted is to tell people...and if noone knows then how can you get caught? also, keep your room away from walls, where they can detect heat....in the middle of the basement if the best place for your room..

That's ok. as everyone said, it's our behavior to be paranoid.

I went to check the mail for my seeds, saw a cop flying up the street like they were looking for someone. Apparently they were chasing some guy, but i was freaked for a bit.

the only way to rid the paranoia is to stop growing, otherwise we have to deal and reduce it.

Excellent advice. All I guess we can do is make sure we've done everything we can in terms of security so:

1. Don't tell anyone you don't need to.
2. Eradicate any odours leaving the premises.
3. Make the room invisible from the outside.
4. Try to buy all equipment in cash in a store.

I'm sure there are others.

If you are only using 1 400w hps then I would say you have nada to worry about..... I live in a 1 story, 3 bedroom, no basement,, small freakin ass house, and I use a 1000w and a 400w hps.... NO ISSUES!!!

People that get busted for grow ops have like 200 plants and shit, and if there is a small bust like one of ours (some of ours) it was only by mistake

yeah they dnt give a shit about the people who grow a couple plants only the ones who grow 200-4000 plant then you better watch out.

I thought the helicopters couldnt see through houses as the walls are to thick or something?

Also I think if you put lead over yourself the helicopters cant detect your heat, or glass cant remebr. But I dont think they would detect any heat inless your growing in your attic and the walls are about 10cm thick.

one time the cops came to my house and knocked on the door.. If I told you what wsa in the bedroom.... you would not belive me.. lol....


anyway... they were there asking me questions about my neighbor.. who had been robbed my a male prositute that he had brought home earlier in the day.. LOL.. after 15 minutes the cops left

i almost had a heart attack.. serious.. it was FOOKING scary

then there was the guy that use to park and sit in his car at the top of my street everyday for 8 months.. I never figured out what that was about.. but he also caused serious paranoia..

then there was the homeless guy that I started to think was an undecover cop.. cause he was the only homeless guy in my town and he appeared in front of my house everyday for 5 weeks... he was finally arrested.. LOL ...not sure what he was arrested for??

LOL.... of course... it never amounted to anything... except lots of stress. and I eventually moved (pussy)

One tme, not long ago, my wife dislocated her hip, (she had a recent hip replacement)
We had to call 911, and the cops and ambulance arrived at my house and were in my bedroom.
Next to my bed was my grow closet, filled with 10 plants, and it was like 2am.
I was scared out of my pants, but they didnt notice a thing.
After that, we moved the plants to a better suited location though.

True statement, in my town there was a 600plant bust a month or two ago, and less then a month ago there was a 1000plant 4 house bust, $1,000,000 worth of marijuana seized. sad sad day, but i know people from my city, there not to bright they dident use the right percausions... neighbors could smell marijuna and even reports of mold on the outside.. yes outside caused by marijuana... all of those can be prevented easily, and also the one house with 600 plants had the highest power bill on the west side of my town lol.
fucking idiots, dont know how to do it.

thats rubbish that the cops busted it, i would of loved to stare at all of that marijuana.

my buddy was walking his dog with an expired dog tag. he got a ticket for it. he let the ticket lapse. fuckin' cops came to the door over a dog ticket. some sort of follow up for dog laws. well sure enough they see the bong on the table. 4 days later, 8am sunday morning...................
