I'm going to buying a new project car, but it will also be my daily driver.

I want power and fun, so if you're a car guy weigh in. I've always been a nismo guy but I'm worried with the 370z out the 350 may be a little dated.

thoughts, weigh in guys and girls. Give me the pros and cons.

Have you thought about an R32 TT or a 200sx?, very widely modified you would find almost any part custom/strengthened/forged if you looked hard enough down to almost the last nut and bolt, or how about a super 7 or a X-bow?,

have you given any thought into buying a car and chopping it?, I have a saxo cosworth still in build atm, it has a higher power to weight than a Bugatti Veyron, if that floats your boat..,

power and fun, if you went for the chop a 370z would be the last thing on your mind if one pulled up I would just laugh,

an S2000 or a 350z?, hmm, I am not going to give you the pro's and cons as I do not have a great deal of knowledge on these rice rockets, imo S2000, the f20, honda have never had a failed unit, or is that the K20 engine?, I hear you can do a head swap for a good increase in bhp..,

If as you say it will be a daily if you modify it spend the money and do it well or it will be a daily for about a day..

down to you, but you will be kicking yourself when you think what if..

your insight is legit. I've built an s13 and s14, as well as two dsm's. I'm looking for something a little more joy of driving.

I'm also stateside, so the gtr is out of the picture. the 7 is still a possibility, however rotary engines are kind of like Communism... in that they only work dependably in theory.

and as far as the motors, the vg in the 350 is a fairly proven platform. the f20 in the s is a VERY proven platform (the k motors go in civics btw)

the big performance differnce comes int he curb weight. the 3,188 lb 350z vs. the 2800 lb s2000. there is about 50hp difference (favoring the z) from the factory. But that doesn't make up for the 300lb difference in the cars.

Yea a civic engine do the US get the k20 or k20a, idk, anyway if you had an s13 and an s14 you are no stranger to being totally sideways, I would get a small donor and get a huge build done with a solid 4wd/2wd unit that can be extensivly tuned succesfully, my saxo is like a can of tuna, I am building it for public road drifting, I am just undecided of the application, 2 or 4wd, both will achive the results with a 60/40 split or straight rwd, I think I will go for rear..

"the joy of driving" I can't help you there ,all of my cars have been straight machines, I have also never persued this kind of driving enjoyment, the cars, especially this latest saxo cosworth is a long way from elegant or humble..

I also have a saxo turbo fwd, atm it achives nearly 300bhp/ton and I KILLED an m3 in it last year, wish I had stuck around long enough to see the guys face,

gl, don't live to regret it.

our civic SI gets the k20z3 and if the r comes over they'll keep the z4 in it.

What generation s2k are you referring to, the first gen has a notoriously week transmission and the second gen has slightly more displacement and does not rev as high. I've done the honda thing many years ago (turbo teg, civic si) so I have experience in that field. Because hondas have high compression motors they respond extremely well under boost, more so then other manufacturers BUT the trade off is with that high compression reliability can be an issue unless you have a good tuner. I can't say much about the 350z except they have much more torque and can be boosted as well but if it's anything like my old 300zx you better have midget hands if you want to work in the engine compartment. personally I find it hard to choose, both cars are pretty sweet.

1. I hate nissans. The worst car I've ever owned was a nissan. I'd never recommend anyone buy one. Out of all the japanese cars on the road nissan uses the poorest specs, the worst production plants, and the cheapest materials possible.

2. The S2000 while nice only has top end power. So expect it to be slow off the line. My buddy owned one. I really like the car the way it was stock. It's a quick car, but I don't think I'd make a racer out of it. It seems like a fun convertible with great handling.

3. Get a mustang...Seriously this current generation is pretty fucking fast and they get decent milage too. They also have a crap ton of parts for them. You may not want a mustang if you're an import kind of a guy (which I understand). I use to only like Japanese cars so I can understand why you may not want one...but truth be told this new generation just kicks all form of ass. The 2011 model is one of the nicest cars I've seen on the road and they perform fucking great.

4. Another car to consider is the hyundai genesis coupe. I personally like this car. Hyundai's are also one the best cars on the road. They use some of the best specs in the industry. Seriously their engines are built in clean rooms.
