WAY more of Texas is outside those BP checkpoints. Texas has some excellent soil with a lot of limestone around and magnesium and dolomite in the hills in the west.

If this is TX you're considering then what general region are you talking? Not Dell City? That pic tells me way dry west. Check your water rights. Also be aware that with fracking going big if you live anywhere near oil you might wake up with a drill rig in your front yard or back yard or both. There will be nothing you can do about it either. You will NOT own the mineral rights and likely not the water rights either. So any drilling will yield you nothing but heartache. Those drill rigs run big lights and run 24/7. Multiple shifts of workers coming and going. Check on this going on in yards in Fort Worth.

There's some desolate country down there hospitable to some desperate people. Family ranches are still around but disappearing fast.

The answer is no. You want to grow big like that, you need some mountains to hide in. Even then, it's iffy.

Ironically, you don't have to worry about helicopters, etc. The logistics alone will fuck you. Here you are toting in all that fertilizer etc and none of the locals know what you are doing with it? Busybodies are everywhere, they want to know what you are doing...and they will find out. They will have excellent excuses for trespassing on your property. That's the way it is.
