Should I Transplant now Before 12/12?

Ok, before I switch this 2 foot 8 inch tall female plant to 12/12 from 24/0, do you think I have to transplant before I flower? I know its a small pot for a 2 footer but its amazing it isn't root-bound by now. And how can I go about transplanting this into a bigger pot? I don't really want to take out the whole root ball, I'm scared I'll put it into shock and kill it. I've heard you can cut the bottom of the pot off, and place it halfway into the bigger pot, and fill the rest with soil the way up. Any help?

yes transplant , your plant will love you

just give a good watering and wait a few minutes for soil to absorb water

then just carefully remove plant from pot , the roots will hold soil together

have someone help....get new pot ready with soil in bottom, set plant in and fill new soil around the outside losely...do not compact soil

couple days water again ..........you should be fine..........lol

Ye man like big mike said. The plant will grow at least twice in size when it flowers as should the root system. You haven't thought about topping them? Peace

Nah, this Is my first real grow. Just want to get the whole Vegetative to Flowering under my belt. Then I''ll start doing the whole pruning techniques and the advanced stuff. I just don't want to send it into shock and kill it. I'll try be careful I guess, wish me luck.

holy shit are those plants tall! quiet some stretching there;)
i would definitely replant them in 3-5 gallon pots, strongly advise you to do so before flowering them. do it a week ahead so that the roots get started again;)

I recently had to transplant 2 of my flowering plants due to some serious drainage issues and they are finally starting to grow again they did not take the transplant well 2-3 weeks into flowering. I have a couple which i did not have to transplant as the drainage was fine and the difference in the transplanted to non transplanted plants is staggering long winded answer to your simple question transplant and let them acclimate to there new pot before putting into flower

Dam, was really hoping to start flowering today. I'll wait a week or two I guess before I flower.

Flower now son! Those things are too huge. Plants will double or triple in size during flowering. These plants are so large that you will have to flower for probably two and a half months, maybe three.

You will get an assload of buds though.

if you repot you can top the plant a bit as well, and for flower start to tie it down slowly, that should take care of your height problems;)

with stretched plants that going to grow more then 5ft you don't get good buds anymore if you not invest in several hps to increase sides lightning. also is the flowering time not determinate by the height of the plant but the strain.

this is solved by topping and tying and not by hasty action.

Alright, I did the BOG method of a transplant. I don't think I disturbed the rootball much. And In a week or two I'm going to get some CFL's on the sides and above to help with the other fluorescent bulbs. Keep In mind this is my first real grow, so I'm just trying to get through the whole growth cycle to flowering without fucking anything up. I don't really care about yield or potency right now, or lighting. When I get a few successful grows under my belt, I'll buy a 400-1000w HPS and some quality seeds. Anywho, here it is, this was the biggest pot I had, For some reason I can't find any 5 gallon buckets anywhere. And I'm switching to 12/12 anyway, despite advice against it. Any opinions?

Thanks for the help.

well done for now, if you not looking into topping them before you switch to 12/12 i would advise you to tie them to a bow at least to reduce plant height a bit, it will increase your light efficiency largely;)

do you got a HPS or other and more tubes to flower them with?

Tie to a bow? Explain please. And yes, I got like 4 40w 12 inch fluorescents, and a couple CFL's. I'll add them later above and on the sides of the plant. Thanks again.

you fix a string to the tip of the plant and pull it down gently and fix it to the rim of the pot. that you slowly do over several days. for the firs days use a water canister to tie it to rather then the rim;) and get something in between the stem and the string such cardboard or so, so that the string won't cut into the stem;)
