should I use hps for flowering?

Hello everyone, hope everyone is well.

I have been growing a bloody skunk autoflower under 1 3500k cobshop autocob.
She is almost at week 9. The buds are so frosty and purple. But the buds are so skinny.
I have another bloody skunk going now, she is almost at week 5.
I was wanting to know if with the 2nd plant, should I flower her under a 150w hps instead of the cob?
Would the hps make the buds denser?
If so, what week should I start using the 150w hps?
The plant will be at 5 weeks in a few days..

Thank you for your time and replies.

If you can control the heat the HPS will do better, you have 150 watts compared to 55 watts. The autocobs are good but IMO you would need another one to really compare to 150 watts of HPS. I actually have 6 autocobs that I use to supplemental lighting in my rooms, nice little lights, key is little.

Right on man! How close is your light? I assume you run it nice and close. You are dealing with a nitrogen excess, thus the clawed leaves.

Yes I over fed her.
I had the cob about 25 inches from start.
I did move it closer the last week or so.
I was using mega crop nutrients and fed too much.
She was grown in a 3gallon smart pot with coco.

You can’t have too much light try using both. I’m partial to hps myself. Most people in Vacaville that I know grow outside it’s a perfect environment. Stay green my friend
Agree. Just add the HPS. At 150 watts it’s not capable of producing fat buds. Consider buying more watts of whatever. In racing nothing beats horsepower and if you want to know how fast you can go I’ll ask how much are you willing to spend? Always go BIG on lights. That is THE key to growing good bud.
