Should I Veg with 400w HPS, or Mod My Ballast to MH? Or Buy T5?

hey guys i have a 3x6 veg room. and a 7x7 flower room. I have 1000 watts in (20) CXB3590 COB LEDs and a 400-watt HPS light from the year 2000. Yeah, its old. I'm wondering if i should use the 400-watt HPS for veg in a 3x6 room? Or if i should modify my ballast to accept MH (take out the ignitor so it can run MH.. seems very easy)? Or should I shell out and pay for a T5 fixture? Obviously, my cheapest option is buying a new 400-watt HPS bulb and throwing it on the ballast i already have. Or I can mod it for about 5 dollars. Or pay for a whole T5 fixture if it is wrth the difference. Either 4' 8-bulb or 4' 4-bulb if i go with T5. Thoughts?

I grow with T5s and for vegging this would be a good option http://www.ebay.com/itm/222082479817?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT. a CMH bulb would also be a great option if it will work with your HPS ballast

yes you're correct it should not be used with electronic ballasts. they were desinged to be run on a 400w mag. ballast for metal halids pulse start & prope start.

I use 2 of these lights one in veg and one in flower, it vegs plants almost like the sun, big fan leaves ,little streching and fast growth. One light will cover 4x4 easily for vegging.
