Well heres the difference a few days and a couple feet has made. some before and after pics. looks healthier, but the yellow is still there. Only time will tell for certain....
Looking much better mate!

Weather or not the lower leaves improve time will tell, they don't usually tho. As long as they are rooting, and you continue to see new growth, then they are doing fine.

Once they are well rooted, pop them into the slabs and start feeding lightly. I've never used RW slabs before, or a dripper system, so I can't be specific about the feeding regime. I would check out the hydro dudes tho, I'm sure one of them has grown this way and will be better placed to advise you.

Have a good Xmas!

I had the same prob at first. I would raise that light to at least 2' - 3' above the canopy. did u soak ur cubes to balance out the ph in them? I used rock wool for 2 grows in my SOG and was not happy at all with them, so I went to the hydrotron pellets and am loving them! what kind of nuts are u using?

the update is everythin seemed to be looking good and my original problems had cleared but yet again something is wrong. the research ive done indicates either some kind of nutrient deficiancy and/or some kind of pests. But I get real confused sometimes about the deficiencies and i swear the symptons all look and sound the same to me sometimes. hopefully someone can help me out with what is wrong and what I need to do? the leaves seem to be curling down and has some brown spots. stems are a reddish purple color, but only for the stalk, the newer growing branches are fine, ithink. here are some pics... this whole grow thing is harder than i actually expected.

Well they look a lot better compared to the last pics, they seem to be growing quite rapidly.

Have they rooted through the fist cubes yet? How are the roots looking?

What strength feed are you giving them?
What ph is your feed?

The pics of those leaves, did you pull them off or did they fall off themselves? And are they from the base of the plant?

I've never been a big fan of rockwol to be honest, I've never got the hang of it. IMO growing in RW slabs has got to be the hardest technique I have ever tried.

Clay pebbles if I'm going Hydro, or soil (nice n easy).

You seem to be doing ok tho, there is some nice new growth on those plants, and as per previous post, they are growing rapidly. Hang in there.

Hope u all had a wicked new year's and i guess the fun is now over and back to work we gro. But yeah, not too sure if its just my girls, the strain, or some kind of deficiency but I FEEL as though they are not 100% healthy. Being such a NEWB, sometimes I dont even know what the hell im lookin for when im lookin for deficiencies or problems. prolly shoulda done a bit more research before taking on such a task.

Roots look nice from what i know because hey are still white and growing through the cubes into the slabs quite rapidly. And this might be really dumb but im not sure of the strength of my feed nor how I would even go about easuring that. *my first grow ever so patience please. But i have been using the flora series from gen hydro with an EC of 2.4 i guess a range of 1200ppm-1680ppm and CF of 24 (i think). My ph of the nutrients is at about 5.8-6.0.

The leaves I pulled on my own thinking "gee i dont want it to spread" but I just read Jorge Cervantes "indoor bible" and learned that unless more than 50% of the leaf is damaged then i should leave it because plants need all their leaves to produce the max amount of chlorophyll and food. See? Im learning... takin a while but... progress is progress.

here some more pics of my more problematic ones. others are a darker grn, not that lime color. i understand that the strain makes a difference but not too sure what is better for my strain (granddaddy purple).

I would invest in a EC/CF or PPM Pen if I were you, it's gonna help a lot for growing in Rockwool.

I would be looking for an EC of around 1.2 at the moment, I think 2.4 is way too high. For the time being, as you don't have a pen, go for 1/4 strength nutes (to be on the safe side).

Also I noticed a bit of green (Algae??) on the top of one of the cubes. You need to cover any exposed rockwool.

Take a look at this link, he is using a dripper system and Rockwool Slabs. There are some good pointers for you in this thread.

This is another grow from the same guy. Again it would do you good to take a look, lots of pointers.
