Should we transplant?

My friend has two female plants. He just took a male plant out of the pot which was the same size as the females. There were only a few roots around the bottom of the pot. The roots weren't around the sides or in center of the pot yet. They are in week 1 of flowering in 4 gallon buckets filled 75% up with soil. Should he transplant these?

Also, he moves the plants outside every time there is sunlight but keeps them an a indoor grow room when there is no sunlight. The indoor grow room has 2x(24 watt 6500k CFL), 2x(40 watt 2700k CFL), and 1x(30 watt long fluorescent tube 2700k). Should he keep the plants indoor and not move them into sunlight on sunny days or keep moving them into sunlight when its sunny?

No on the transplant. Brautiful plants. I would keep doing just what your doing. They'll end up between 3 and 3.5 feet and yield out nice.
