There are a couple of grows on here, one guy is actually like 5days into flower kidgraphikz or something like that. Yea it won the cup. really hoping for a winner on this one, to make up for the germ/sprout rate.

Thanks man :weed:

ill check out your journal soon and sub so i can see how it grows out.

i prune at the end of the plants life for 2 reasons, 1 is that it helps flush and 2 is that it helps light get to the lower bud sites for the last couple days so they will fill out and mature
i do not see how it will help flush, when you flush the plant uses its stored energy in the leaf to live if you cut those off before then i would think it would just start taking the energy from where ever it can and mabye the buds as well.

and as for number 2 lst is to allow more light lower and get more growth tips and keep a plant short. the leafs you pruned off are the ones that create the bud, direct light to a bud will not make it grow bigger, it is like an apple tree, all the fruit is under the tree in the shade cuz if it were in direct light it would not do so well and be nasty, that is why the leafs are left alone to produce enerfy for the buds to be made.

the more leaf the more bud my friend, IMO a leaf should never be cut off unless it is dead, infested orwhen it is on a branch you cut to clone.

the buds still look great though. i just dont see hwy your doing 2 things that could hurt yield and the plant

there is nute build-up in the leaves, and when you cut them off the buds look for energy in the soil and roots which are being fed regular water. its a faster way to flush.

also i only cut off the main fan leaves which were blocking some of the lower buds, the small leaves on the buds are the leaves that take in energy for the buds to grow so they wont be affected.

and i know lst is supposed to open up bud sites but not alll sites are open heres a before and after pic do you see how much more you and the light can see?

i know everyone has their own opinion and as do i and this has worked for me before so im sticking to it, look up pruning the last couple days before harvest, a lot of people do it.

lol

I suggest you try comparing one plant from your current methodology to one plant: that you never remove a fan leaf unless it falls off, put into darkness for 3 days before you chop it, and then you cut and hang whole to dry. Trim it after it has dried fully and is ready to be cured. The fan leaves supposedly help to start the fermentation process, and my first test of this method would suggest so. My next test is to drown it for the last day under the lamps and the 3 days of darkness, before I cut and hang it whole.

I thin kit would have done better with the leafs, im not trying to be a dick or any thing so please do not take it that way, i was just pointing out a few things that should be changed a lil, and yes it was my opinion and you can continue to grow how you grow the buds still look great. and the leafs on the buds are very small compared to what you cut.
i dont care if you dont change your methods i am just putting in my 2 cents to try to help.
but like Rasputin said maybe on the next grow do a side by side with the same strain, soil nutes and every thing else the same except the pruning and see the results for your self.

keep us updated on her still though please she still a nice looking plant with some nice looking buds

some plants and phenos handle nutes way different u can have one that likes onlu a drop of them and then some that will just go through a bottle of nutes quick.
a flowering nute should not be to high in N but it could be for that one plant, a N. over does would show dark green leafs and the eagle claw along with delayed flower time. like i said though she still looks good and she looks like she will produce some good smoke[/QUOTE

kewl she was on the same res as my ice kush who is a pig on the nutes i pulled the ice kush a few days ago so i lowered my soup mix from around 1100ppm to 800ppm

What was the purpose of pruning??
The purpose of pruning was explained right above the post you posted

Don't worry lol no offense taken but possibly I can do the side by side in the near future I'm working on a breeding project right now but when that's done ill be sure to let you know then I can start that

And ill keep you updated on the ww the 25th will be 8 weeks which is how long its supposed to stay in flowering but I'm not sure if ill let it go a little longer yet

right now, top 69 autoflower and a really good bagseed i had, when im done with that, im gonna find the best male and breed it to kushadelic
i am not sure on this but i think if you breed a non auto with a auto then the first batch of seeds most likely wont be an autoflower.
what are you aming to create and auto flower strain? cuz if not i would not use it to breed any thing

Lowryder X White Widow 4 weeks since sex has shown.

she is looking real nice man, she looks happy to with all her fan leafs reaching for the sky

hmm i never heard anything of this, but yes id like an auto strain, if it doesnt come out auto do you think itll have at least a short flowering time?

what i heard is that no matter how many times u breed something just as long as there is a little bit of ruderalis in it, itll always autoflower

and also my male bagseed autoflowered. i never put it under 12/12 i just kept it in the 18/6 veg box with my auto and the pollen sacs came out

Unfortunately my plant above is living proof that isnt true, lol.

lowryder is an auto, but when crossed with the white widow, the seedlings are not autoflowering. Maybe if they got back crossed with the lowryder again, there is a better chance of the auto trait coming out.

hmm true, did you breed that yourself or buy the seeds?

maybe some will be autos and some wont, then u can find the strongest autos in the batch of seeds and continue breeding them?

WOWgrow did you twist your stems???????????? It looks like in your skeleton pic you've twisted the stems
I didn't twist them intentionally, just must of been the way I tied them down. For anyone interested, I ended up with 2.2 oz from that plant (airy buds).

Looks good mate, but in future you might wanna leave some fan leaves on. The plant swells the most in the last 2 - 3 weeks of flower and needs energy to do that, it gets it's energy from its fan leaves. By all means get her pruned, just not butt neked, lol.

this link is all about breeding and has alot of knowledgeable peoples in it i would go and ask in this thread -> https://www.rollitup.org/breeders-paradise/392046-club-600-breeding-showcase.html

and male sacks will form on a plant when it is mature a any non auto flower will show pre flowers if left to mature long enough in veg

this is what i was thinking and kinda what i read.
