yes, i have heard about it. . . .. . you cant.
the active ingredient in shrooms is VERY heat sensitive. fire will kill it instantly.
also trying to cook with shrooms, like sticking them in the oven, will kill them.

Hmm damn, haha what about making edibles out of salvia?

the active ingredient in salvia, is killed by your stomach acids so you can't eat it.
the traditinal method of taking salvia, is to chew the leafs in you mouth, Without swallowing, keeping the stuff in your mouth, where it is absorbed into the blood stream.
or u can smoke it.
