Shrooms (Need Help)

yooo wut up

i have decided to grow shrooms...but i have never before. i am short on cash and i was wondering if any of u can help me out with a home made set up to harvest around a pound at a time. i dont have alot of money so any inexpensive ideas are very welcome. thanx to all

Go to shroomery.com and do some good research. To get a pound per harvest you will need to do a bulk substrate grow. Since your a newbie i'd recommend doing a PF tek method for growing them just to get you started on the general idea. You won't get a pound but it'll be a stepping stone for larger scale grows. Look up WBS tek, liquid cultures, monotubs, and general bulk grow guides and you will be well on your way to becoming a profficient mycologist

I recently compiled some info of how to do a cheap grow that should yield a lot and uploaded it to a server. If you'd like to download it the link is:

I have been growing mushrooms for a few years now, my advice would be to start with the PF tek ( use 1/2 pint and 1 pint size mason jars). Mycotopia is a good place to do research, the online community over there is really helpful. Checkout the "monotub" method. Personally, I like to use a mix that contains aged/ shredded cow manure as part of the mix.

here is the mix I like to use

5 cups vermiculite
3 cups pasteurized cow manure
8 tablespoons brown rice flour
1.5 cups of pure or distilled water

mix these ingredients and load them into mason jars, then Pressure cook for one hour. When the jars have cooled (several hours later) innoculate (inject) them with spore solution or mycelium soultion (if you are cloning).

there are many different methods, but to get the feel I also advise to start out with the PF tek, although personally I never use the old school mix of simply brown rice flour vermiculite and water. Its just too slow. Use manure, the mycelium loves it [/IMG] trying to add an image here

A couple more things to bear in mind, there are many different varieties of P. Cubensis , the Amazonian type can grow to be one of the biggest (if not the biggest). I really like the Penis Envy 6 and the Ban Lipa Yai (Koh Samuii) the picture above is of the Ban Lipa Yai

also, when ordering spores I highly recomend Ralphsters

You clearly know a lot more about this then me so I was wondering if you could tell me where to get manure.

The best place to find cow manure is of course a cow pasture, you want to use manure that comes from cows that graze on wild grasses and plants, not grain fed cattle. Just try to be inconspicous, look out for the Ranchers... hee hee hee

Horse manure, Donkey Manure, Buffalo manure, and Cow manure are all good. I think most large herbivorous mammals produce manure that cubensis will grow in. I have always wanted to try using Elephant Dung or maybe some other large African mammal dung, like maybe Rhino or ?...? I have heard of some zoos that give away or sell there manure, the one zookeeper I asked said they could not give away their manure because it is potentially a health risk

thats all pretty sick, iv never done shoorms muchless tryed 2 grow them.
but i plan to do them some time soon!!

iv heard alot of bs about them though, like ppl say they tip hardcore, like they have said chairs look like they are floating, and shit like that.

but id also heard ppl say its more like being super stoned... i guess it would all depend on ur sardoings?

When I did them, it was basically like being super duper stoned, yeah. But, we got pretty low quality shrooms, and we only ate about a twelfth at that, so I definitely don't think we got the full experience. Our trip was relatively light, and I definitely want to try it again with better stuff in larger quantity. Now having said all that, it was still whacked out loopy. Totally cool experience.. even the light visuals we got were preposterously cool. We ended up eating, then smoking a bowl of really good Kush, then going on a walk through downtown Richmond, where we were at the time. Absolutely nuts experience. Shrooms seemed more "background" than say, salvia, which just grabs you and goes. Kind of a mixture between salvia and really good weed, if I had to try and describe it, though every hallucinogen is indescribably crazy in its own way.

Zoos mix all their manure together so you don't want that. You ail have poop from carnivores that eat raw meat etc and you could get a bad case of some pretty aggressive parasites (worms). Cows horses and other farm animals that eat hay (dried grass) and pasture grass in the summer are safe for you to handle. Make sure to wash your hands after handling though because these animals also have worms. Worms in them are somewhat controlled by treating them every 6 weeks with wormers. If you go to any horse farm or farm with cows with a bucket and a spade and ask them for some manure then Im sure they will let you take as much as you want and they will most likely point you to a compost pile where the manure has been cooking for a long time so that pathogens will have been killed by the heat. We have a small farm and sometimes people ask for manure for their gardens etc and we always let them take whatever they want. One horse easily produces 20 lbs of manure every day. I would go and ask for it, if a farmer sees you sneaking around their field you are going to get shot or arrested for trespassing. They will think you are hunting, stealing, or a PETA member there to set their livlihood free and you don't need that headache for a few pounds of crap they want to get rid of anyway.

Oh yeah Im in on this one PF Tek has been around for over ten tears that Im aware of and it's a good set up. But if your looking for massive harvest look into a set up like this SHROOOOOMS . I have been into booms for a long time myself and can only warn you that you may feel no harm in these and I agree but in most states it's a Sced 1 drug and that carry's time. Got a 6 piece. Dont quit there REALLY low key, just be hush.

I KINDLY disagree on it not being cheap. The bang for buck is better than buds on the get go and you can pull many a harvest from one grow over night etc a few times. But yes knowledge is key. Contamination is also a weak point. But the shits easy I feel.
