as long as your PH doesnt change. hydro actually takes more care then soil just because of the PH issue and because of rate of growth is increased.

I was thinking of going with the Ebb and flow setup, but gotta do more studying. Thanks man. I think i'll let my buddy try it first and watch him before i try to experiment with new stuff!!LOL!!

I will agree with Hydrokronics. There can be extra work involved with hydro, but I have never grown in dirt so I can't compare. I did get 12oz dry from three plants on my first grow though......

Well, my biggest two have been in dirt for almost 11or 12 weeks now. I have no idea how fast hydro is, i've never done it!LOL!!
I'm willing to do the extra work, just don't want to ruin the first grow in it. I'm more concerned with trying to speed it up a bit. If this works then i'll try, then maybe aero......gotta keep dreamin'!!!

if your gonna make a run at hydro there is one important thing that you must get! A PH PEN!! It is sooo important to check your PH everyday. atleast once a day 
if you have time i would check it three times a day. breakfast, lunch, dinner. The PH is what it is all about in hydro and alot of people dont realize that and go into it with just a chemical tester. 
thes work but are not accurate at all. and if you color blind they dont even work I would buy an expensive pen at first, i would get one from ebay for cheap and just keep calibrating it.
Its you keep you PH constant you keep you girls happy! the most common mistake out there is thinking that once you adjust your PH once you are done. NOT THE CASE. the air stone and all of the enviormental situations will either raise or lower you PH so it is important to keep up on it!!

Nice man, I'm finishing my my purple this week i think. Not much amber yet, but I think it will come fast.
I got this friend who thought his plants were doing good because he saw green... Now that he bought a meter he realizes how much he wasted his time before he bought it, but props to you for success.

Today (Saturday) is day 51 Flower // 100 Total.
8-10 weeks maturation for both strains according to breeder (Nirvana). I say (estimating) with a 20x loupe that the PPP's have about 10-15% Amber, 50-55% Cloudy, 40-45% Clear. The Snow White's have 0-5% Amber, 15-20% Cloudy, 75-80% Clear.
Leaves are starting to yellow somewhat. I plan on flushing with water and maybe a little AN sweat leaf (basically molasses, and no it doesn't clog up my system) in a few days, or a week.

That's me too dude. I dont have a ph tester yet. I plan on getting one once the funds are more available.I don't test my pH, EC, or ppm....and I'm a baller.

I went ahead and took a small lower branch off one of my PPP's and did a quick dry (1/2 microwave steam method + 1/2 in-front-of-a-heater-for-5-minutes method). Trichomes seemed to be mostly cloudy. I didn't weigh it or anything but I would be surprised if the dry weight was anything more than a 1/16th of an ounce - probably less. The high was actually pretty damn good. I lot more powerful and longer lasting than most of the stuff I've been smoking recently. It seemed to start slow and then hit u in the face pretty hard for awhile. The taste wasn't too harsh, but it was definitely a bit green tasting. I may go ahead and cut another small test branch off tonight (I can't help it!).

I told ya I was gonna snip another branch!! I used the same quick-dry method as before. About 1m40s in the microwave on 40% power level via the steam method (look it up on the FAQ), then I dried it next to a heater for 5 minutes or so.
I had 2.7 grams wet after trimming it off the lil branch.....turned out to be 1.1 grams dry. Trichomes still look mostly cloudy, with maybe 20-30% clear and a few stray amber. However, I'm only using a 20x loupe...I'm going to get the 60-100x mag from radioshack ($12.99) tomorrow.
Commence smoking!!

Today (Friday) is day 57 from the start of 12/12. I think my PPPs are just about done....and I think I'm gonna harvest those 2 lovely ladies (Toshiba & Windy) on Saturday (Day FIFTY EIGHT) if all goes well. They've put on some extra weight in the last 3 or 4 days I believe. I have about 10% (maybe 15%) amber, 80% cloudy, and 10% clear on the triches of the PPPs.....and since (according to Nirvana) its a mostly Sativa variety, I think they're exactly where I want them to be in terms of being more of a "up/energetic" high. As for the 2 Snow Whites (Dumbledwarf & Madam Mim), they've put on some extra weight in the past 3 or 4 days as well. However, when I checked their trichomes today, I saw about 0% amber, 20% cloudy, and 80% clear. And since, according to Nirvana, Snow White is a pure Indica, I definitely want to wait until at least half of the triches are amber, in order to achieve the true "knock you on your ass body stone". So, I'm thinkin harvest 2 PPPs Saturday, and maybe the end of next week I'll be ready to harvest my Snow Whites.

Couldn't resist.
I ended up taking some of the bud leaves off 3 of the plants in order to get a better look at em with my 60-100x microscope. To my surprise, there was a lot more amber on them than I thought.
Total Wet Weight of Both PPPs:
off the top of my head ~ 560 grams
This is mainly all buds, and a few stems on the bigger colas. Also note, my humidity has been extremely low as of late because of winter (in the 20-30% range) and as a result I really don't think my buds have an extreme amount of water left in some of them, but we shall see.
I got a shit ton of trim+stems as well.
The Snow Whites (now that I got a good look at em) look a lot smaller than the taller PPPs. I'm going to drop the light down and keep it there for another week or so before I cut the Snow Whites.
As for my bud.....its actually in about 15 or 20 brown paper bags currently sitting in my dark flower room lol. The air movement/temp is great, and that's the only area I could think to store it on such a short term. This harvest was spur of the moment. Tomorrow I'm going to rig up a nice light proof area inside of my flower room and hang them on a screen lining or something. It's definitely not ideal, but it'll work. I imagine drying for a day or 2 then putting them back into the bags for a couple days, then start the curing.
I have a few real good pics of the plants before I cut em, but I need to find the usb cable for the camera. In the meentime...these shitty ones will have to do.
I hope to get in the vicinity of 6-8 oz (anything more would be a blessing I think) dry off my 2 PPP and 2 Snow White under a 400w HPS - about half of what my man Ab got out of 2x PPP and 1x Snow White under a 600w HPS. He also kept thorough tabs on his resevoir (ppm, ph, ec), where as I did not. I also think I could have gotten a little more if I left them for another week or so, but I think the ratio of triches based on the samples I took were like 30% amber, 60% cloudy, 10% clear. I also noticed some very awesome colors on some of the calyxes and bud leaves that were closet to the light....a lot of pink and yellow and purple and white....looks like a tad bit of lightburn?
P.s. Trim/Manicuring took about 5-6 hrs with 3 people. Talk about a pain in the ass!
