I have a question on how to achieve a single cola short plant? I plan on flowering early.

2nded. Flower early or 12/12 from seed and crowd the plants. Crowding them stops the sidebranches from going nuts

You can also look into short autoflowering plants - they often develop into just one main cola. (Lowryder/Lowryder2)
12/12 from seed won't give you a single cola USUALLY. don't get me wrong sometimes depending on the pheno it will. I have a white widow big bud 12/12 from seed going right now and the lady looks like i vegged her for months. great pheno!
anyways....from my experience and readings, the best way to get one main cola is to take very small clones, and as soon as you see growth put her in flower, but even then, sometimes you will get little shoots coming out. the key to doing sog, again through reading many journals and doing some experiments is to do many many plants in small containers, and have a perpetual harvest going on. It's definitely a lot more work to take care of many small plants versus a few big lady's, but to me its not really work. I enjoy smoking a joint and "working" in my garden. just my .02

Yeah, SOG grows usually are single colas, in party cups or similar containers - in tray beds it's sometimes called "Soma style", although I believe Soma favoured seeds (being a breeder and all).
