Single NL auto

Starting a NL auto aoutdoor. Never grown in soil, outdoor, or an auto before. Ha. Any recommendations for nutrients? I chose NL because I read it is a very resilient plant and will be able to withstand the heat. Plan to transplant shortly into sand (I hear it’s a good medium) unless advised otherwise. I personally would never expect sand to be a good medium , but who knows. Any advice is welcome. Thanks

Yeah haha I’m looking for some nutrients I’m between fox farm and Humboldt Nutrients . There reasonably priced but I’d like to get the highest yield possible also.

I grow primarily in ground and my native soil is very sandy. I mix it approx. 3 parts nursery or potting soil mix to one part native soil. I would recommend atleast a 50/50 mix so it holds some water, the sand drains too well. As far as nutes go I have tried a few line ups including fox farm and Humboldt. You will get good results with either. I personally use Age Old grow and bloom along with fox farm microbebrew, humboldt honey, bontainicare liquid karma(in nutrients and foliar), earth juice microblast and calmag, and raw potassium(only during flowering). I have had great results and have no urge to change at the moment.

Ok great! Thanks for the info. I think the 50/50 mix sounds like a great idea. Sand doesnt hold any water so I think adding some soil would be great. Sounds like an awesome medium. I’m definitely going to be using those nutes as a reference.

I used greensand along with different manures and organic ferts plus supplements an living bacteria slow release. I only use water but sand helps it drain so so much better the key in my experience is that perfect drainage ratio the plant loves

What's your opinion about a full substitute for perlite hydrotons instead ?i use some on top layer though good decent amount

I don't think there would really be any benefit to using hydrotons throughout the soil mix. Why not just use vermiculite?

Did you end up using sand?

Personally, I've grown my autos in general potting soil(PRO-MIX, Vigoro, Fox Farm), I'm not familiar with raw sand as a medium. If i was you, I would try and attain a large bucket to burry in the ground to isolate the potting soil (w/ holes in the bottom of the bucket).

I would transplant the seedling asap, auto flowers don't seem to like transplanting for some reason, or maybe it's just they don't have time to recover from the small amount of shock because of their short life cycle.

Any "daily" nutrients will do just fine(General Organics, Advanced Nutrients), and for the first 3 or 4 weeks you wont need to feed if you use good potting mix. From then on, I would use a 1/8th of of the suggested dosage on the bottle (so if the bottle suggests 1ml of feed to 1 litre of water, you would use .125ml of feed to a L of water) you'll need some sort of syringe to make accurate feed measurements though.

Use vegetation feed until the upward growth stops, then you're safe to start feeding a small amount of a bloom.

General hydro- flora micro-bloom start out a 1/3 of what you would use on a photoperiod plant and increase slowly, autos do not need the nutrients like photo plants

Don’t use normal fim or topping or removes leaves, ponytailing and leaf tucking make for a great grow... autos don’t have time to bounce back from any kind of stress even from some lst methods, keep that in mind as well! As far as NL it’s a great outdoor option!! Mold resistant and some other good quality’s! What Breeder did you get from?
